'06 R6 Redline is a HOAX!!

So I heard through the grapevine that the calibration in the tachs of the new r6 (Which claims to redline at 17,500RPM) is fucked. Apparently the motorcycle only revs to 15,500 when the tech is showing 17,5.. anyone else hear that?

Kawi last year did the same thing with the 636
supposed to go to 16,500..... on the dyno it is 15,500

it was in the kawi adds too... so not sure why it didnt cause a stir?

Suzuki tach is optimistic this year too

Yammys main selling feature was the 17,500 red line and they promoted that everywhere! I think thats why there was so much shit about it!

Honestly I don't really think it matters. Not one single member on this board has the ability to wring all the performance of an R6 out on the track, so the point is kinda moot..

GSXR600 is better anyway haha

I don't think the point is that the last 1000rpm matters... it doesn't, really. The point is that Yamaha advertised it up, down, and around to sell these things.
