SportCompactNights (SCN) Calgary--May 6 @ Roundup Centre

Hey Beyond,

Sport Compact Nights-Calgary is back this year, May 6 @ The Roundup Centre. ( www.sportcompactnights.ca )

Last year's event was a lot of fun, this year is shaping up to be even bigger. Same idea, lots of giveaways from sponsors; some of the slickest show cars from across Canada and the US; and feature models from all over. We have lined up import model Jeri Lee and the Alpine BMW X5, to name a couple so far. Feel free drop some other suggestions as to what you'd like to see!

Car registration is open to everyone, whether you're with a vendor, a club/group, or simply registering solo. All registered vehicles are entered into the Meguiar's Show & Shine, so there's plenty of awards/cash up for grabs. There's been no talk of a Beyond booth yet, let's get something going. : ) You may contact [email protected] for further registrations' inquires.

SCN last year was great... lots of fun... however there were a couple things that i thought could be improved:

Give out the awards alittle earlier so everyone isnt leaving half way through them.

Runner up awards or honerable mentions? I dunno... might take too long.

I'll be there for sure.... when should we be contacting you for entering a large group of cars?

yeah, first and second place wasn't enough, there were a lot of amazing cars that didn't recieve anything. But at least last year, the awards were given out fairly.

Why is the SCN show starting so early this year?

Hopefully can have my car and a couple of others done by then and get them into the show.

we should have a huge beyond booth like take up our own corner and sell stuff there, also we could get some sponsors to help us out to make it look crazy sick. Someone needs to find out if we can do that because just imagine the turn out if ppl from beyond are gonna show up wit der cars. Plus last year there wasnt one. And i think beyond should have their own contests as well.

...and I think you have no idea what you are talking about. I suggest you get some glasses because there was a mad pimp crazy tight Beyond booth last year with some of the nicest cars in the building. There was also shirts/stickers/other Beyond apparel for sale. Piece.

This year's show may seem a bit early, particularly for those building cars. But for local sponsors and businesses, early May is an ideal time to get things rolling for the new season. So I guess there needs to be some sort of compromise with date.

Sounds to me like someone is missing the point of a "Car Show" if its generally designated towards businesses.

its a win win for everybody people show off their cars hang out with other ppl meet new ppl and also there are sponsors which is good because a lot of ppl prob have to ask the companys about parts and stuff. However SCN is more to show off your car than it is for business to get rollin but its crazy fun you should go

I think you missed the point my man. The show is for everyone. If we have it in June/July, then some sponsors get upset, if we have it in May, individuals get upset. What do we do?

I prefer June myself, but we also need to consider when the venue is available. The show is early this year, hope you can make it.

I want to enter my car... but i need to drive it... so how long would i be without a car if i entered? and if there was a beyond booth, would itbe possible to register with the booth... i'm gonna pick up some damn beyond stickers too... ^^ lol
