I was wondering if Volkswagen is going to sell the 5-door version of the GTI here in Canada and if so when will they start selling it? 07? 08?

What about the 4-door Civic Si? I remember reading around that there will be a 4-door Si coming out but is there an official date as to when?

I'm going to purchase my first new car and I'm stuck deciding between waiting for the 5-door GTI and 4-door Si. OR go cheap and get a Fit or Yaris and save myself some money. Another thing is: If I go for a Honda Fit they won't be selling the CVT-7 speed transmission model here which is the one I would perfer.

So my third question is: Does anyone know if Canada will be getting the CVT-7 transmission on the Fit?

EDIT: I noticed the the Fit they're selling in UK is a 1.4L, and the North American one is a 1.5. So is that the reason we're not getting the CVT transmission?

I know the GTI in the 5 door will be coming to Canada, last i heard it would be this summer some time.

the honda Jazz will be known here as the Fit.

it will come out with a new 1.5L VTEC engine and make 109hp
and come with a 4spd auto ir 5 spd manual.

btw goes on sale starting on april 3rd!

Sorry I just got the names mixed up cuz I was surfing on the UK Honda site for so long. I know they're coming out with a auto and manual tranny but what I want to know is if they're going to have the CVT-7 speed tranny here.

expensive, a black GTI loaded w/ DSG 4 door + OEM Vortex Kit and 18inch would run over 40k easy

I was at the stealership getting pricing information a few weeks ago. The guy i was talking to was pretty sure the 4 door would be similarily priced with the 2 door.
Red + DSG + Leather/Moonroof came to just under 35. + tax = near 38.
He was't sure about the availabilty of a factory bodykit, or how much it would run, but think about it. OEM. I'm betting 1800 and up would be conservative.
The factory 18's were close to 2000 as well.
So, lets add it all up.

GTI + DSG + Leather/Moon = 35.
+ 1800 dollar bodykit = 36.8
+ 2000 dollar 18's = 38.8
+ Tax = 42g's.

It's a pricey little heavy car, but it's a really good, well put together package. I like it

yep just go to your local dealer, the offical MSRP for the 4door should be available as well
