Anyone ever fought an exhuast ticket?

So today I was sitting at a stoplight with a cop behind me, so I gave it as little throttle as possible when the light turned and shifted at 2k rpm to try and keep it as quiet as possible. Then not even 100 feet after the light the asshole pulls me over.

Has anyone ever challenged this ticket berfore? Is it even worth my time? I was aware of the law before that exhuast cant be bigger than stock but he didn't pull out a tape measure (which i have seen them do it before) and how does he know what my stock exhuast size is. And he also said that it was too loud. Now where is his decibal meter to verify that? I don't see how he can just be the "judge' himself and decide with his hearing that it is to loud.

I've had good luck with light bulb ones, but my exhaust ones always wound up costing me. I've heard your car, its too damn loud anyways....time for a resonator.

Ask him how many decibels it was in court? My truck is to loud to my according to my gF, but just right to me, the law is not enforceable by personal taste and preference, if its to loud, he has to measure the decibel output with a meter, unless the cop has a bionic ear, he is full of shit..
I got pulled over, the cop told me to put mufflers on it, or I would get a ticket, I showed him the mufflers, he told me to get better ones, but let me off with no ticket.. He was just picking on you for being a young guy in an sports car...Maxt

I fought a exhaust ticket and and excessive nise ticket for exhaust damm 3.5" muffler. Just go talk to the jp down at rocymtn plaza tell him your storey and that you get harrassed all the damm time and you think this ticket is a waste he will throw it out and you wont have to pay a thing thats what I did and it saved me a couple of bucks

last summer i got an exhaust ticket, so i took it to court. Usually they're supposed to send you a letter in the mail giving your court date but i still haven't got one. It's worth it sometimes just to take it to court, cause at least you might get the ticket reduced

It was $69 I think. Thanks for the advice everyone, I think I will try and fight it. Or atleast postpone it a while until I have some cash.
