I called RCTS to setup some dyno time for myself. and teh guy on teh phone told me they had one in there today that made 290whp.
Said he had a "greddy turbo", and a techtom board. And that is was purple.
Anybody know anything about this guy?

we built it

Last heard the MR2 at speedtech was pushin 12 PSI with only 260HP. Hummm...want to check that thing out again.
Yeah its a speedtech car and its blue. Originally from the States it was owned by a guy named Ryan in Edmonton. It was then sold to its owner in Calgary who put in a 2nd gen from jdm source as well as a greddy td06. Its a really nice setup and from what ive heard it was 297whp. Car has some other nice mods, coilovers, traction rods, pretty much stock interior, greddy bodykit and some mesh style rims.
Looking for a new VW? How about a used vehicle? We are Central Albertas #1 source for pre-owned vehicles

I turned 264.4 HP on the mustang dyno over at Tecmotion. Using a conversion factor of 13% that would put me at 298.7 HP on a dynojet. That is with a CT-20b. I would have expected a lot more from a TD06.
Tha tis pretty crazy for a ct20b.Originally posted by jvillain

Ooo
Hmm how do you find the conversion factor for the dyno? Or is it just a 'set' factor from mustang dynos -> dyno jets.
I think I finally found a ride I like
Because mustang and dyno jets work very differently their is no real great conversion factor. The rough rule of thumb is 13% - 15%. I chose the more conservative number. I don't know what number Ricky and Mathew were using but they both ball parked me in just under the 300 range on a dynojet as well.
The point of the post wasn't to say ooh I hit this number. It was to show that 290whp on a TD-06 isn't a very big number. There are many smaller turbos that will make that kind of power and spool a LOT more quickly. CT-20b, CT-27, the dancing spud being just a few.
My guess is they bought the TD-06 kit from ATS and bolted it on. I think Max is looking for similar numbers to this. The complexity of developing a ROM tune that will work safely on every ones car increases hugely with every HP you add.
At 300hp the AFM is maxed out and the 550 supra injectors are getting close to being maxed out. There are few guys on the board that can tell you doing a full fuel upgrade isn't cheap. But you really have no other choice if you want to go over 300hp.
I know there are atleast a couple of MR2's in town with aftermaket ECU's which means they were looking to make some good power and willing to spend to get it. I hope they will post their numbers.
With some of the hardware floating around out there I really don't see why before the end of this season we shouldn't see dyno numbers > 300rwhp and 1/4 mile times atleast into the 12s. Maybe Max will do both in the next couple of weeks.
What are your mods with the CT20B?
