    1/4 mile time as of Aug 25th 06 first pass 11.64 at 122

    Oct 7th 2006 11.40 @ 119

    2.3 SOHC,ported/polished head, ported lower,custom upper. Custom large throttle body. 4" dp and 3" Ultra flow

    Holset T3 HY-35 with large FMIC 3.5 core.

    C-4 auto 2500 stall, 3.73 gears, line lock and LakeWood LCAs
    alum drive shaft and loop

    06 is going to be fun with the Holset!

    I am going with a home made log center mount.

    I hope to fit the HY just as it comes no messing around, move the Turbo ahead so the stock exhaust elbow out the back fits nice with the car.



    I think a center mount log may help spool but who knows its all about a nice fit. I plan to leave the compressor outlet pointing down and foward to the FMIC, maybe go under the sway bar mount to keep it open and clean looking.

    Here i made up some flanges and few extras for a few friends. Now to get some 1 1/4 elbows get going



    The front shot looks good.



    Here is the start of the FMIC i also plan to build a SS foward facing upper intake with 3" and 3.8 SC TB.(thanks Tom)

    Another nice day to work on the car

    So i pulled the bumper and cover today fun fun fun!

    Takes an hour, not bad. This is temp bungy cord fit

    looks like a perfect fit.



















    So far so good, nothing had to be cut or trimmed.

    Here is the build of my custom upper intake.

    Make a base flange with a perfect fit to the lower knife edged intake.



    Cut some corner pieces to fit the odd shape.



    Add 3" pipe and mark where to cut.



    Weld up the pieces.




    Weld it up on the flange. The throttle body is a stock 5 litre.





    Next mock up some stainless steel bends for hood clearance and angle. tape works good for test fitting.





    The throttle body flange will be put on next and add a throttle cable bracket with a 3/8s nipple for the vacuum tree.

    Then start the fab/fit of the 4" down pipe. Freebie from a good friend. :arco:



    And this 4" chrome pipe ( 1 bend only) will be part of the turbo cold air intake with a K&N on the end. Freebie again :2thumbs:

    What it looks like, So far So good!

    Simply bad ass a 4" cold air intake pipe!







    Hard to see but thats the 4" down pipe it will have.





    I sure like the header bolts i found, From new VWs, they are from the CV axels they hold axel to trans flange.



    A little header wrench (was a 10mm) i made with a allen welded on the one end and still a 10mm open on the other.

    the pipe is to long but ya get the idea




    the yellow transition hose is temporary lol

    I made these end pieces for my charge pipes.

    My throttle body and VAM are 3" OD and inside the TB is 2.5 ID and the charge pipe are 2.5"

    The cost of transition hoses are gay.

    So i whipped up the adapters to weld on the ends.







    Silicone 3" ID hose and T bolt clamps i picked up.

    Finished upper intake all vacuum nipples done and throttle cable mount done.

    And a peek at my charge pipe that sits at the inlet for the throttle body with alky and nos nozzles.

    Car is all apart to do some media blasting and get it painted.











    I decided to remove all the heavy crap under the carpit, what a ton shit that is under there.









    Gave the carpit a good cleaning looks like new again.

    Well i let the motor collect dust till last week.

    The lucky guy in the booth got to spend all afternoon and then some more time spraying the car.

    Turbo is super loud spools really easy. Cant wait till the car gets on Toma's dyno. hope to get a few vids.

    Alky nozzle location.



    Alky filter and back of pump on frame rail.




    3 BAR MAP



    Alky controller on dash





    Boost gauge with 2 LEDs.
    Top LED for pump action, goes red to green for spraying.

    Bottom blue LED for low alky level.
