    Default FS: Sparco hood pins

bought from speedtech a while ago... was gonna put them on... but decided to leave my CF hood a virgin (no cracked clearcoat for me, thanks)
i wanted to see if i could just get my money back... paid around $64 after taxes and was looking to get about 60 for them... pretty firm on this, as if they don't sell... they'll be put on my car anyways... here's a pic:

Sorry man, don't want to take it off topic, but be smart and put them on. Why risk the hood, your windshield, your safety, etc.

I have the same ones and they work great. After over 2 years the only thing is that they have a little surface rust on them so I might replace them, but they haven't cracked my hood at all.

If you still want to sell, and someone else wants these, they work great and I have had no problems with mine.

    Good luck.

Thie thing about the latch - at least on mine, (VIS Racing) is that it's only held in with fiberglass overlay, even though the latch is metal. And it won't get lose before it rips out... it'll just happen when you get that gust one day at the right angle on the highway.

The trick to screwing into the CF is just to make sure you use pilot holes. I used a very fine bit because those screws that hold on you top plates are pretty small as it is. And when I did the holes for the pin itself I didn't even use a drill. I used a tile cutting bit on a dremmel. That way I didn't get any splintering, and besides that, you need something precise anyhow because if you look close those holes for the pins aren't round but more rectangular with rounded corners.

If you ever want to see how I put mine in, just let me know and I'll show you. It's not hard, just nerve-wrecking when you make that first cut. Measure 8 times, cut once I say.

Just let me know... I don't mind meeting up.
