Class 3 drivers
Anyone do short haul, just around the city, or short trips? I have my class three and some extra cash and a buddy of mine suggested picking up a water truck.
Just looking for basic info. Like around the city, do you usually get paid mileage or is it hourly? What kinda rates are we looking at?

i drive a mixer truck for Burnco so it is all local.
pay is hourly for most short haul jobs.
this week i grossed roughly $1400 a couple long days though.

I have a class 1. honestly if you want to just do local stuff (class 1 also has local jobs shunting around the city) it is way easier to pick up a gravel truck,water truck, bigger cube van.
not a problem to get $17+ an hour.
It seems you only want to do it parttime?

class 1 isnt long haul, think city delivery, pepsi, coke, anthing tractor trailer that you see in the city, you get better returns out of a class one as well.
