Default My Mod Plans for 06 WRX

I told myself I was going to leave the car stock and at it's 4X4 level. Figured it was nice to have one stock looking car in the family but it's just so boring to look. Time to add some show to go with the go aspect.

    CHARGESPEED AEROKIT
Very simple. Very classy. Low key look I'm after.

    Front Lip

    Side Skirts

    Rear Lip

    SUSPENSION
The Suby is a bit odd, enormous wheel gap in the front, so so in the rear.

    ProDrive Spring (Slight Front Rake)
    1.5' Fr
    1.0' R

Combine it w/Koni Yellow Sport Adjustable Dampening Shocks.

    Thoughts or any other suggestions?

Looks hot, just one thing though,
the H tech springs are garbage, but if all you want to do is lower it then they will do the job

I have done a lot of research on springs on NASIOC, and from what I have read, you do not want to get the TEIN springs.

If you are looking for the raked look - the Cobb springs will drop 2" front and 1.5" rear. For a more even drop, look into the JDM pinks. Swift springs will have similar drop to the pinks.

If you want a very subtle drop, Prodrive springs may be on your list. If you want the largest drop/good track performance that is still livable, check out the Racecomp Engineering springs. I will try to find pics to link for each of these...

Yah reminds me of the Sti Limited. You should go with the small lip on the back instead of the normal huge spoiler most wrx's have as well.

I hope your not using this for delieveries like you mentioned you were planning on before, because if you show up with this to deliver food, your not getting tipped much.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions and comments.

That's a lot of wheel gap even with the lowering spring in.

I think I'll just go with the spring that has proven to work for me in the past, H&R Sport spring and Koni Yellow Sport shocks.

Now it's time to find out what the damage is.

Hey! We have sold all these springs and I have to agree that the best overall are the Prodrive and TEIN H-Tech (S are too low) but the H&Rs are still decent, especially when combined with a set of Koni Sports. What about some nice 18" ADVANS for the summer

Well l looked at my Suby again this morning and decided the H&R spring (1.4'F & 1.3'R) isn't going to give me the desired look I want. The fronts must be lower than the rear or else it's going to look funny with the larger front wheel gap. So I did some resarching on NASIOC, going with the recommendations of xrayvsn and Tuner1. Prodrive it is.

    1.5'F
    1.0'R

    Should look sexy

Tuner1: I think I will get some Advans next summer, some seriously pimping wheels in that lineup.

That will be one hot WRX. Take before/after pics for us!

Edit: I'm interested to see how you like the ride on the Prodrives, as I'm considering a set myself. I will try to match them to the Ohlin's fixed perch struts for the STi, since I have read good things about that particular strut setup.

Your planned setup with the Koni yellos from my understanding is what some STi guys upgrade to. They need to buy a used WRX strut first to use the inserts, though. Nice choices on your suspension.

    Decisions Decisions DEcisions

Now I'm contemplating Crucial Racing Springs. Everyone who has them on NASIOC absolutely loves them.

    1.25' F
    1.00' R
    Crucial Racing Website
These are the same high performance spring rates as the highly-lauded and thoroughly-tested JDM STi "Pinks," but the Crucial springs have better materials quality, smoother progressive rates (plus are progressive both front and rear, while the JDM Pinks are only progressive on the rear, and linear front), offer slightly more drop up front for a nicer, more even stance (JDM Pinks are 1.0" both front and rear on WRX, 10mm front/rear on STi), actually come with a warranty, cost significantly less, and aren't pink. Our customers who have switched from Pinks to our springs all said that ours ride much, much smoother while simultaneously handling better with quicker response, more grip, and better control. You can't go wrong.
The cost factor, won't need the Koni Yellows immediately, more money for other goodies.
