you can only use it on Fido if it is already unlocked. by the sounds of it he said it is a rogers at&t s40 so it would need to be unlocked before a Fido SIM would work in it.

U know what my friend did?
He emailed Seimens and asked for the unlock code and they got back to him within a few days!
He unlocked his Rogers S40 and is now using on Fido..
If you want to check it out I can give you the IMEI of the phone so you can get it first,...Before buying...

your friend is one lucky guy and siemens is very nice to give an unlock code for a 'rogers' phone.

No I don't believe you. I don't think Siemens would give an unlock code for a Rogers phone. If anyone was to give the code out it would be Rogers and Rogers charges $250.00 for an unlock code which is insane.

I think if anyone sent an e-mail reqesting the code from Rogers or Siemens they would be welcomed with a big Fuck You give us $250.00 for a phone that is not worth that much.

Good Luck with your sale. I have had this phone before and it is a great phone for the price considering it is tri-band as well. I just want to make it clear that you won't be able to get this phone unlocked for free from Rogers or Siemens.

well,..i gotta appreciate you input,..I agree with you for the most part,..I know if you were to ask Rogers they will make you pay for it. However, if taken the right action and talking to the right people like the Manufacturer. This is possible. MAybe your right, my friend could have lucked out or just found a loophole..
If it was me,..I would at least give it a try,..what do you got to lose?
And you know what?...Nothing can be clear unless you've actually tried it...It would just be your opinion!

Back on topic, if you unlock this phone, PM me and I will take it. Roopi can confirm that i've been looking for this specific phone for a while. I need it strictly for oversea use and will NOT be using it with Rogers or Fido, so it must be unlocked.

if i were you weapon_r, i would buy the phone and then have it unlocked yourself,

if your'e using it strictly overseas then that may be a better way to go as that way would ensure that it is unlocked rather than bring it over there and find out it's still locked . . .

besides it only costs $20 bucks and about 10 minutes of your time
