Question Help pin a value on a computer I'd like to sell.

I never use this comp. MemEx built it about a year ago and it just sits unused because I take my laptop everywhere with me. I have no idea what to ask for it. Here's the specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 3500+
    1GB RAM
    200 GB HDD
    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
    SB Live! 24bit
    LG CD ROM/Burner
    LG DVD/Burner
    Antec Quiet Sonata Case
    Legit XP home
    Modem/Ethernet/Extra USB ports, etc, etc....
    Gigabyte Mother with Dual Bios

What should I sell it for?

Consider it now off warranty, I would say $300-$400.

Stuff that has absolutely no value in your system:

    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
    SB Live! 24bit
    LG CD ROM/Burner
    Legit XP home
    Modem/Ethernet/Extra USB ports, etc, etc....

Stuff that worth something (current equivalent @ 1/2 price due to no warranty):

    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ $100
    1GB RAM $50
    200 GB HDD $50
    LG DVD/Burner $20
    Quiet Sonata Case $50
Gigabyte Mother with Dual Bios $50

So, $320 sounds like a fair deal. Any more than this, people will rather buy a cheap new system which will match pretty much this spec for around $600.

Thanks guys, I was thinking $400 based on the condition, spec, and lack of use. So it'll hit the bargin finder for that amount next Thursday. Fresh format and all updates done Few things are still under warranty on it too, like the HDD (2 more years), 9800Pro (1.5 years), and RAM (lifetime). I have all the receipts too.

    go to www.memoryexpress.com

price out the EXACT system you have, and sell it for 40%-50% of that and post the online quote file along with it.

also you'd be suprised that a lot of geeks, AHEM, buy stuff off of beyond computer stuff too.
    Cos...

Having followed your suggestion it looks like $400 is an appropriate price. Thx.
