Default I just bought a 32'' Sony Bravia HD LCDTV - buyers remorse?

Well I first bought a no name, and just couldnt get the thing to work properly with my laptop when connected to it. I had no choice but to move to another brand. Trust me, I spent two hrs in Future shop tonight trying it on other tvs and couldnt get it fixed. I really do love that tv (just bought Sat) and didnt want to give it up. heck, I still want it to death, but what good is it...if the connection with my comp isnt fully compatible it seems.

But other than the digimate brand for $750, all the others at Future shop were more money. The LG sucked, and from there...the Samsung, Toshiba, Panasonic and Sony Bravia were the same price (the bravia was $300 off). So I jumped on it.

Now, I come home measure the screen and it only measures 31.5'' wtf? I feel so ripped off. Now, im thinking about upgrading to 37''./ The half inch bothers me, because they advertise it as 32''!

Did I make a good choice? If not, please tell me now and I will do what I have to do, to correct it. Trust me, Im a bit disgruntled, spending $1300 on a tv was the last thing I had in mind...

All I have to say is the picture on this Bravia is aaaaaaaaamazing!!!! And I havent even fully fine tuned it yet.

    Would you

    1) You made a good choice. Keep it, dont let the 31.5'' (though advertised as 32) bother you. It wouldnt bother me.

    2) Bring it back, get the digimate (I really hated the look of it)

    3) Bring it back and get the 37'' (though it'll probably be like 36''

Unless its a high end plasma or LCD, LG blows. I tested it out tonight (trust me, they were first option on my list) and the quality was soooooooo bad. way too dark.

Panasonic i hear isnt all that great. Maybe if it was few hundred cheaper I would get it, but considering the bravia was the same price (on sale),...hmmm.....cant really beat bravia i guess. Theyre just freakin $$$$

PANASONIC and LG make the worst 32'' LCD's lol. If your going to buy a 32'', buy a samsung. Fully compatitable with your pc (laptop) and way better than the LG or PANASONIC. If you have not noticed yet, samsung is sony and, sony is samsung. Most of their panels are identical and they are very similar.

Go to costco and buy something there. I wouldn't bother with an Sony LCD unless it was an XBR.

Costco has alot of commerical pieces. All their warranties are AMERICAN warranties and its not the best place to pick up TV's unless your going to use them commerically.

Oh and the 32'' XBR is not worth your money. The 40''', 46'', and 52'' are!

Ya I was eyeing the Sammy - but for some reason the screen would fuzz up and blur up when I connected it to my laptop. All the others were fine. Yes, I know that Sony and Samsung are the same panels.

Have you used digimate b4? Insignia is god awful, never ever.

So what do you guys think I should do? I really am upset about getting ripped off with 31.5''. I mean I pay for the 32, not anything less! grrr

I know this may sound crazy, but .....since Sony and Sammy use the same panels, if the Sammy i was looking at is exact 32'' diagonally......that might be worth it right there ..another trip for exchange. hmmmm.

You can get a 42" AKAI from Costco for $1300 or something like that.

Quality is pretty good for the price.

Oh hell no. They make the worst TV's. I remember we had one of their DLP's at futureshop. I think 8/10 were defective pieces of shit. LOL

    omg.

I guess you never bought a CRT TV then. A 27" Tv had a screen of 25". The size is the picture tube size, not the size of the screen. I guess they carried over the messed up measurements to LCDs as well.

Get over it... you can't see the 0.5" different anyway.

it is a plasma. All the reviews are good. Good bang for the buck. Plus Costco has the best return policy.

Actually most if not all makers......when they say the tv is so and so size, that is from corner to corner diagonally, viewing area only.

And actually, half an inch can be spotted.....but thats not the point. its fale advertising something that really isnt.
