Well the thing was supposed to released for quite a while already now. But then Lexus came along with the IS-F, and they had 409 hp, so BMW instantly pulled back the M3, bumped it form a v6 to a v8, and upped the horsepower to play with Lexus. The car should be out in about third quarter of 2008

Nah, originally they had a twin turbo or turbo'ed V6, i can't remember which, but according to internal memos and brand specialists at auto shows, it was bumped up to the V8 derived from the other m classes, because of the impending IS-F

Uh, Im pretty sure BMW was hinting the M3 would have a small V8 all along. The new 335i has the twin turbo inline 6.

They were hinting at it, but they weren't going to release it with one...... till Lexus came out with the IS-F, then out went the twin turbo, in came the v-8, but yes still a nice car indeed, although rumors had it long time ago, they were going to come out witha 1-series, guess that's not happening any time soon

I think M3 will start where 335i Convertible ends. Probably starts @ $70K bare and $80K loaded. $90K for convertible.

    Expected 7-10% more then today's M3 ..

So .. from $75K base price on E46.. probably $79K base for the coupe ... $90K full loaded and 89K for the cab base price .. etc ..

    Expect ~ $58K US to start .. ~$68K US full loaded ..

Most likely ... all 2008 M3 are pre sold ..
    The Original !

that's sounds ridiculous, why would bmw, who is renowned for producing amazing NA engines in their M series cars even consider putting in a TT I6?...the M formula always includes NA, Hi-Comp and ITBs (except for one little exception, the US m3)
