i need different lug nuts for these rims?!!

gah. i just got new tires for these 14 inch '93 del sol alloys and i go to get them installed and now they tell me i need acorn lug nuts or something.. that my hyundai uses different ones... why the hell does a different lug nut have to do with anything. im so confused and tired i been messing with this for a long time.. i went to honda dealership they only had 8 and it cost 2.67(US) a piece..

o yeah duh... lol didnt think bout that.. but the old lug nuts will go on im sure but the guy said something about it holding the rim tight he showed me like the lugnut was loose in the other rim or something..

You should really shell out for the proper lug nut. If you use a straight taper nut where a spherical/acorn one is required, I think you end up with all the stress of holding the wheel in place concentrated on a very small area.

And keep one set of your original lug nuts in the car in case you have to put on your spare.

awesome. thanks for the info mrheavyfoot. i understand now.. i guess ill go get the proper lug nuts then.. but where do u think its cheapest to get them? do they sell em online ? cause i dont feel like shelling out 3 bux(US) with tax each.. and i need 16.. so yeah

Dunno.

Tirerack might have them, or I would imagine any tire/wheel shop where you live would have them. They're pretty standard stuff.

Ask any tire place. they should have them lying around in the back. Even dealerships would probably have some.

I needed some of those and everywhere had handfuls of them.
