Default Going to Vancouver soon, need event ideas

So a couple friends and i are making a road trip to Vancouver soon and we are looking for some fun and interesting things to do while we are there (not your typical mom and dad stuff either).

What do you guys know of?

things to do on the ocean?

things to do on the mountains?

Cool stuff to do mid downtown?

aquarium is a waste of money imo
get on the local Vancouver and area car forums and see if there is any meets going on, check out the scene there.

Go tunnel blasting, go to seattle for a day (only 2 or so hours away) go to the beach, try to find one of the car washes where a whole team of asians wash your car.

The aquarium is somewhat disappointing. Something like $28 to get in plus $5 for a couple hours parking.

Don't get me wrong, I love marine life, and when I was there I waited in the line for over an hour just to see the whales up close. Also $28 do like a reasonable price to pay to help sustain all the creatures. But I personally enjoyed walking on a beach (away from the city) during low tides to checkout the wildlife in person rather than at the aquarium.

Hit up Kadoya Japan on Davies street for sushi. Every roll I've had there kicked ass, but keep in mind that the special rolls like the spider roll or alaska roll are quite large so order bit by bit. I have eaten at well over 100 sushi places all over north america and that one really stands out in my mind.

Be careful though because Davies street is the gay district, do not under any circumstances go into a bar or club on that street.

As others have said, the aquarium is cool and the show that they put on is 4D which is awesome. With that said, there are better things you could do with your money then go there. We also went to the Capilano Bridge when we were there, and it was just as expensive and I don't think I would recommend that either. I wish we would've just hung around the marina and downtown area. Could've hit up the sushi joint that Q-TIP refers too and had the most amazing meal ever for the price of the aquarium and bridge.

If you go to Kintaro, go early because the lineups are insane.
