Downloading you tube clips or other clips

What kind of software is everyone using to dowanload streaming videos or clips from you tube or other video sites.

i have a plug in for firefox that downloads youtube and google video files. It's called VideoDownloader. Works really well but youtube and google files are a different format so you're going to need to convert the file if you want to do anything with it.

Unplug is another good firefox plug-in. It ties in with VLC media player so you can watch as it's downloading them to your harddrive.

google it, there are many pages on this topic, I don't have the links handy but there are sites out there where you paste the link of the youtube video in and hit a button and it will dl the file, then use an FLV player to watch it.

Is that Flash Video player?

I'm also looking for something like the OP but it plays flash videos.
