    Default New Project: 88 528e

Yes I know, should have kept the 735 running but oh well, shit happens and shes going to be leaving real soon. The 528 was a good cheap car but I think I will keep it for a little project/fun car.

She has no rust really behind the front fenders so those will be swapped out with some fresh ones along with hopefully euro bumpers all around and then I have to choose a colour.

Thinking Black or White right now but since this won't get driven as much as the 7 I may want to go with something a little brighter or different so I'm not too sure yet. Opinions?

Anyways, hopefully picking up one of my front rims from AWR and then just got ot get new 18 rubber for the rear and they will be bolted on, already test fitted, need some new bump stops in the rear but the front looked good.

Will post some pictures soon, hopefully tomorrow if the weather is nice.

Anyone know of any dead e28's around with good interiors or anyone parting an e28's?

Looks like I gave my USB cord for my camera away with my white chocolate, whoops, hopefully he still has it or I'll have to go get another.

Anyways here are some pictures of a late night test fit on the rear of the Beyern 5's...

New rear brakes are on, new front's hopefully can do it tomorrow. Also need to look into rear diff mount or center support bearing. Then find or get a custom exhaust made and let the fun begin.

Copper, with a very fine flake. Sexiest colour ever.

735 had alot of problems and finally gave up the ghost a couple of months ago. As much as I miss her, she would have cost too much to get running again then bring back to perfect condition. She had alot of KM on her too.

Copper, nice, ya I've seen a copper e30 before and it was very clean. I'm thinking Schwartz Black or Imola Red w/ Black or Tan leather interior but any more ideas/pictures to help change my mind would be sweet.

White/Silver aren't bad but nothing special i guess I want to put it.

Once this project is completed it won't get driven that much. Will probably have suspension, a bunch of engine work done, and exhaust before winter then I will drive it over winter and source together a new interior then send it out for a full paint *fix all the rust* and put on some new bumpers next spring.

Anyone know if there is a manual avalible for the 528e? I think I may keep the 2.8l in there and just do some mild mods to it and just keep her running smooth until she has some serious problems then look at doing something else, atleast a 5spd would make her a little more fun to drive. That plan is still up in the air.

Finished putting the front brakes on today so that means new pads and rotors all around.

Also looked at the diff mount and driveshaft center support bearing and found out it is the support bearing making the noise and problems. Will look into it on monday and see how much its going to cost. If it isn't too outragous I will probably book it in 3 weeks from now for new exhaust and fix the center support bearing.

Put the steelies on today as the 18's aren't quite up to shape to go on, and don't know if the fronts clear yet so I may just trade them down for some nice 16's or 17's for her. Got a picture I will post soon.

    Possibly, power/heated?
Let me look into putting them in to an e28 and I'll let you know. I know e30 seats are commonly used.

    How's the drivers seat look?

Any chance you got a picture of the underside of it? Where the rails normally bolt too.

    Is the rear rim dented?

    The 7 was sweet.

Ya, the front has been repaired but the rear's is smaller and wasn't loosing air so I left it at the time.

Still going to test fit the front rims on the e28 to see if I want to keep them or not.

Thanks waldini, I'll check it out

for the amount that you are gonna spend "restoring" that thing, wouldnt it make sense to find a better shell or a new car...

meh fuckit. If someone comes to me and say they have a non-rusted shell with screwed engine for dirt cheap and i havent started the bodywork on mine yet, I'll get it and move it over, but hey it's all a learning experience so I don't care how much it costs really, it's going to be slow and steady so whatever. I'm only 19 so if I make this project last long enough before I move onto another one I'll be happy
