B&H. Nuff said.
+1 for BH. KEH if you want used stuff.
make sure you ship UPS airmail.
^^ Reason?
No surprise charges at the door. Brokerage is included in the price of shipping when you go UPS air. Only thing you'll have to pay for is GST.

UPS Expedited
2-4 Business Days Delivery $28.00
That air?
So i guess after shipping and tax id only be saving 20 bucks. Not worth it.
yeah...shipping is the deal break sometimes...I always try to split it with a buddy
Every time I pretended to buy stuff from B&H, shipping was $50-60 for one lens and that was enough to make it cheaper to buy locally. I also prefer USPS shipping as it is *usually* cheaper in the first place and only charges you $5 brokerage if it applies. I've been screwed by UPS more times than I can count, but by the sounds of things other people are having great luck with them.
I've gotten a pretty large order from B&H and everything went perfectly. I did as suggested by Derick to get all the costs at the door. Funny thing when I ordered, the guy delivering was just as excited as I was to see what was in the boxes
Ultracrepidarian
That is why we have Beyond B&H group buys.
Last time, I bought $1800 worth of stuff that came in 4 boxes. The shipping was $200 or something. The more you buy, the cheaper the shipping gets per item.

Or ship to the border and drive, you guys have got to have something there that can receive things for you.. Minnesota is only 30 min away for me so my shipping was 12 dollars the first time - but I paid 30 again to get it next day cus UPS fucked it up and sent it back to New York :|
BHPhoto, adorama, ritz are all good stores, adorama has some incredibly good deals on certain things..
But shipping into Canada is a bitch sometimes, so if you can split shipping that's awesome, if you can't, try to ship to the states and go for a drive..
It's illegal not to declare things, and declaring is only gst anyways.. and the fine is a few thousand dollars last I checked - sometimes it's easier/safer to declare and call it a day.
Or risk it..
That being said, I have to ship in for myself, no stores here carry the things I want, and for them to ship it in, it's a 2-4 week wait + incredible premium..
18-200 vr for $1200 after shipping for example ..

Calgary is 3 hours from the border. It isn't worth my time to save $20.

it's spelt lens not lense.
Yo... Definately let me know next time one of these group buys happen. I want in.That is why we have Beyond B&H group buys.

I just received my package from B&H today though lol, kinda funny timing. Saved myself over $200 over buying locally even after shipping and GST.
USPS priority too, so I could have saved like $15 if I didn't want it for this weekend.

Bought a (new) lens from cameta (EBAY) in the state, pretty good deal, save 300+ bucks . Just make sure you choose the right shipping method (as mentioned by above users).
^^ Yup thats the most important. Using USPS express I only had to pay GST when picking it up at the post office.. I can't even imagine how much I would have had to pay using UPS.
