Beach in Cuba will be nicer, on the caribbean side white sand and warm water. Cant get any safer than a communist country either

Try cabo, beaches are no where near as good but the AIs are great and probably the most "westernized" city in Mexico

mexico is nice cause it still has north american stuff like kit kat or hienz ketchup or real coke. cuba is nice cause its typically a bit cheaper and safe and good beaches, though there are rad beaches in mexico to (i like the yucatan region)

Cuba because no Americans there so you get the real Cuba. Can't stand PV because the McDs, Hardrock and such made it feel like LA.

I say Cuba for most of the reasons listed above. I've traveled throughout Mexico and have also visited Cuba and have found that Cuba offers increased safety, increased affordability, and world class cigars. I find the locals a lot nicer as well.

Cuba. Beaches in puerto vallarta are decent at best.
Mexico you'll get more resort for your buck, I found they were generally more upscale and bigger.
Cuba has more interesting things to see, puerto vallarta is fairly westernized (relatively). If you go to Cuba, be sure to find your way to Havana, the downtown is incredible.

Don't expect that resort to be fully staffed, or even fully constructed by the time you get there. Mexican resorts always run way over their projected completion times, hope you got a killer deal at least to make up for it.

Yeah, we're not too concerned because it's attached to the RIU Palace and it's like stay at one and play at both kinda deal. So it should be fine, i hope.

Cuba has nice water/sand/people. But don't go if you think you might get hungry while you're there.

I found the food in Cuba to be great! I was at an all inclusive, and the buffets and restaurants there were awesome. Fresh juices, strong coffee, and all the mojitos you could drink. The beef there was very flavourful and it was one of the most memorable steaks I've ever had.

I would hit the Mayan Riveria in Mexico before going to Cuba, right now.

I DO really want to go to cuba, the only problem is that, there is a solid chance that Castro could kick it sometime in the next few years and i do NOT want to be in Cuba when that happens, it's a long shot, but i'd rather avoid it.

Then put the resort name out so nobody has to go through what we did! We were at a 4plus and it was terrible and we kept getting told by other people that ours was better than theirs!
