The more I read what you type the more I hear the voice of Jack Layton.

Opposition for the sake of opposition.

Please inform us all about how Alberta will be better off tomorrow morning.

Please.... you doomsayers are starting to scare me.... really

Myself and the rest of Alebrta got along more then fine 15 years ago, 10 years ago, 5 years ago before the boom..... some would argue we were better off.... I am one of them....

As much of a socialist that I am, the only thing the government in my opinon is REQUIRED to do is provide a social net for its people.... employment insurance, health, education, infrastructure....

The Alberta government is under NO obligation to create an atmosphere where a guy with 2 years of "education" makes $150k a year, or to create an atmosphere where a private company, whose RECORD PROFITS leave our province and country.

    Nothing will change.

If it does, it was gonna happen anyway.

Alberta is not the centre of the oil and gas world, and we still have the most stable economic and political climate for the oil business out of anyone "that matters".

Key word... PROFITS..... as in, it will cut into your profits, but not shift you into a loss position....

Aside from a painful rant on his BS redistribution policy, I have to point out the fact that he said very little about where the money was going. I mean really he could have saved some face to a number of voters if he also rolled out a tax cut for the province.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be, "OK" with a chop in the profits of your business so long as you were still in the money though.

So am I going to see some "wealth destruction" in my investment portfolio tomorrow...or has this review already been built into the share prices?

I better dust off the trading password on my options account and get ready for some action

After my year long preaching on the tech stocks, you were still invested in oil and gas?

You did notice that since I was pumping apple, that it went from $95 to $180?? Any idea what that did to the options??

I was out of the oil and gas, but some of my mutual funds might be slightly affected.

I was in on some of the apple calls and made some good money. Then I got stupid and did call options on I-Robot and Amgen which wasn't pretty at all.

If I have time tonight I'll dig up and provide some examples.

Did you find any of your examples ?

Encana has a ton of stuff currently going on in SK and BC. They are also in US. ConocoPhillips partnership, CO, and WY (I believe).

Talking to some of these pro royalty folks lately, and they have the idea that the new money will someone trickle down to them and their pockets.

Fuck no.... but maybe the cuts and funding to education, infrastructure and healthcare that RALPH stole from us will be negated.

Sure would be nice to be able to see a specialist quicker then a month..... or go to Emergency and get proper care....
