The city actually hires cash cow advisors to implement them for maximum revenue. True story i heard it from a friend of a friends uncle's son of mine.

I think exhaust is leaking into your car better have it checked .

Excessive speed is not dangerous ? Stop faster going 200 than 100 ? No thought into speed limits ?

You are driving on our roads ?

as stated above... wouldnt it have somthing to do with your reaction times? i believe im quoting someone (he said it about the ZR video... but im not sure who it was) "it isnt that you car is unable to travel at those speeds safely... its that our roads arent designed for that. The car may be safe at 200 kph but our highways arent designed to accommodate that.

even some parts of the German Autobahns are starting to have speed-limits on them. There are too many factors at play when a car is traveling at such high speeds rather than simply the drivers skill level.

for instance... if i was going 200 kph in my prelude and i hit a pot-hole... what would happen to my wheel? in turn would i spin out... possibly hitting other cars or going off the road hurting innocent people and damaging property.

    just my $0.02

I think you need to get your sarcasm detector checked out

and Bart, honestly you were doubling the speed limit and you don't find this remotely dangerous?

    oops.
If you weren't so busy being holier than thou, you'd notice that those are CITY speed limits and you would notice that the first sentence on the page also says:

"It's true: there are no speed limits on the German autobahns."

Maybe you should try googling up what an autobahn is and how that differs from city roads.

And another tidbit for you: just because you are some bottom rung traffic cop does not mean you are the Mother Teresa of the Roads, Divine Saint who looks over all drivers with her Eternal Tickets of Justice. Fuck off.

cops tend to hide themselves when trying to catch speeders. also, they target you from as far away as possible. the difference is, the cop catches you when line of sight is established, but if it is a hazard, the danger doesnt occur when line of sight is established, it occurs when you approach the object. unless by hazard you mean a deer with frickin lasers attached to it, these are not analgous

i dont believe they should charge you with dangerouse driving but in the same frame of mind, believing you can drive well under those conditions vs knowing you can drive well under those conditions are two very different things along with the police officer not knowing if you are a "skilled" driver nor the public knowing this.

on a side note, i do believe when speeding your perception of your surroundings is heightened and you are more reactive to the circumstances, whether you can react safely or not is another thing but im saying you are defiantly more aware when speeding.

dangerous driving involves any speeder who is delusional to believe they own a racing car and drive accordingly on the highway.

Just to be sure here... What exactly did you get charged with?

Dangerous Driving is a Criminal Code offence, not a 'ticket'.

You may have been released with an Appearance Notice, or a Promise to Appear, but that is nowhere near something that would be considered a ticket.

Section and Act, if you don't mind. That would help in understanding your post a bit.

I didn't get charged with anything.

For those retards who keep asking how its possible to get a ticket on an emtpy highway, here are two scenarios:

    1) clocked from airplane (as i pointed out those yellow lines earlier)
    2) since its divided, i don't care about opposite traffic on the other side. so there could have been a cop going the other direction. what i care about is that both of the lanes on my side are completely empty.

    There are other examples too.

Are you saying that driving 200km/h on a straight road requires a car capable of 5Gs lateral grip to be safe?

And I'm not sure why you're comparing a silver overhang on wheels to an s2k... In any case, I see S2000 on this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...test_lap_times which I'm pretty sure qualifies it as safe to be driven at 200km/h.

I probably wouldn't cruise at 200km/h myself, but the car itself is capable.
