My parents have been seperated for about 5 years now... and just finally going through the divorce now.

Heard on the radio that Canada wide is 50% divorce rate and Alberta alone is 60%.

yep. my folks seperated when i was 17 (24 now). close family. you definitely learn alot about who they are, and what types of people are in your family. i would never wish it upon anyone and would never put my kids through it.

Interesting points of view. I don't think your partents meant to"put you through that" when they seperated. In many cases you might be better off that they did. I think a happy home with one parent is still better than a stress/depressed home with two.

MY parents have been married for 49 years. I'm on year 11. I've had a few buddies divorce. IN one case it was trhe best thing they could have done for their kids. They were not good together.

Way back when, a few years ago I ran into this one guy......

but he was 30 and on his 4th marriage.

Not a word of a lie. He got married at 18, that lasted a few months, then remarried a year and a half later, and so on from there... Obviously his wife was there, so I didn't want to press the issue, but I was like was like "fuck man...... how do you that? you'd think after the second one he'd take a few years off and think things through... but no.... that was only half way there.

He wasn't even talking to his wife when the two of them were in the same room, its as if the other person wasn't even there.


It was probably the most "wierd" night, just from being floored by the gravity of that.... I never thought that was even possible while your that age.

I honestly didn't want to ask how his finances were, all I found out through the grapevine that he lives in a basement suite somewhere.....
surprisingly (or shall I say not surprisingly) he didn't have any kids.

Quite the guy.

parents seperated around 7 years ago also, im 20, you guys are old balls.
i know it was for the better, my older sister didnt.
some divorcey families are SO confusing.
