I think those V-Rods will be my next purchase.. that's if my current bike will last another 8 years or so..
take a look at the yamaha warrior as well if you love the v-rod... it placed just behind the harley in the bike shootouts for "Inside Motorcycles"... plus it's at least $10,000 or more cheaper (with the harley running @ $30,000+). There's stage 1-4 kits that you can get for it, boosting the HP by more than 30 HP (with the stage 4 kit).
That's definitely one of the few machines I won't drive because the torque scares me so much, but I absolutely love the styling.
We saw one at the shop the other day (it was due for it's schedualled maintenance), and it had half pipes on it made by cobra ( I think it was cobra anyways... I could be wrong though). Yeah, so, anyways, we started it up and it was so obnoxiously loud that it shook the ground and nearly made us deaf. But the amount of raw power that thing had was insane!!!
I also saw this article last year on the v-rod. it was called the f-rod.
Fred Kodlin Designs
just go into this site, click on "bikes", and click on f-rod. This has got to be one of the neatest custom bikes that I have seen... although it is worth around $150,000 US (ouch!)
When in doubt, pinn'er. :P
Holy!! in 15 years of riding that's the first time I've ever been called a squid!Originally posted by m10-power

hehe, sounds like we're on. I'm pretty rusty myself, so I could loose!! I'll keep you updated on the next track day. I'm really looking forward to getting back on the track!

Harley I'm talking either a heritage springer or heritage classic late model or a brand new v-rod. But I'm supremely partial to harley

My fave's:
- Ducati 750SS from 1976
- late fifties/early sixties BSA Goldstar DBD 500
- early fifties Vincents (Black Shadows or Lightnings, both are great)
- 1982 Kawasaki Eddie Lawson Replica
- Yamaha FZR400R, any year.
- any Velocette Thruxton or Venom 500cc single
- late sixties/early seventies Ducati 350 Desmo engine's anything. (Preferrably a Mk1 or Mk3)
- Harley Davidson FLH Police Special with an evolution engine (better built than a civvies model)
- Any thirties vintage Rudge. They were all cool.
- Gilera Sanremo
- Any Crocker ever made. Probably the ultimate in two wheeled craftsmanship.
- Brough Superior SS (the bike Lawrence of Arabia was killed on; probably the most valuable bike on the planet)
- Any Indian Chief 74 inch. (gotta love the fenders and the sound)
Ah fuck, better stop...

M10, the real tragedy was that Mike Britten died just months before the V1000 was to be put into production. His wife inherited everything after his fatal heart attack at age 49, and she lacked the business sense and ecumen to continue with production plans. Apparently, much was in Mike Britten's head, and died with him.
If only...
my cuzin and 3 of this friends have the only nsr 500's in canada...he got it a few months ago
got everything imported for around 6g's...
