Where to find cheap (but clean!) hotel on strip for 2 nights in Vegas?

Hey guys, never been so not sure what is where etc.

I basically need a cheap CLEAN hotel room for one on strip for March 26 + 27. I don't want to spend any more than I have to because on friday (28th) I have a house rented for a week. I just decided I wanted to go down for 2 extra days to hang out and maybe ride skateparks.

Any suggestions on where to look?

circus circus, stratosphere, excalibur, and imperial palace are all cheap..

Location and cost wise imperial palace is your best bet.. should be able to get rooms around $70 and its mid strip.

hey there is place called mesquite, nv its 1 hour north of las vagas
rooms there i think little bit cheaper, food at virgin river is good..
i donno how are the rooms in vagas in march season, there is alot of conference shows, so it may ger really booked up..
plus, in weekend you don't have to pay the top dollar in vagas.

On Las Vegas Blvd down past Stratosphere there's a bunch of motels and hotels. They have a Howard Johnson there which will probably cost you about $50-60/night. Definitely a more shady area but not far from the strip.

There's also a Travelodge close to the strip I think.

yeh, i wouldn't suggest going north of the strip, it's shady up there... i'd go south... we were actually just researching it and there's a place called emerald suites about 3 minutes south of "the strip" on the strip... it's near the LV outlet malls, we found 2 bed rooms for $80/night (depends on when you're going)

in vagas, i stayed at orleans, and south point is a new hotel, heard its prtty nice too..

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Just seems pointless to get a supernice place for 2 nights since already spending enough on the house/debauchery.

Yah north of the strip is pretty shady. First time to Vegas I messed up our reservation and booked only for two nights instead of the three. We ended up staying in a nasty ass place that cost us $35 (got $5 back when you returned the key). This place was disgusting, we all slept in our jeans, hoodies, and shoes. There was also makeup on the pillow covers on the bed my friends were in and there also looked to be dried blood on the heater banister. We were staying at Imperial Palace for the next nights, it was Bellagio compared to the first place.
