    Default OBDII Scanner help

Just picked up CP9135 Actron, to see whats up with the Check Engine Light. Plugged the device into plug underneath the steering column. Boots up, tried to read/mil status comes up with link error. Tried with key crank to on and with no key.....still link error. Tried this device on my other 95 Ford windstar and pulled the codes no problem. Anyone got any ideas??

The car i drive and tested on is a 2000 Subaru Impreza, 230,000Kms.

Anyone have any ideas?? Maybe the ECU needs replace in my impreza??

    Thanks,

Make sure that all fuses are good. I couldn't get it to read cause the cig lighter was burnt out. Once I replaced it. It worked

I have check all the fuses, all are still good! both inside the car and in the engine bay.

I also tried to read my brother 2003 Neon, of course it didn't have the CEL, but it read and pass all test.

I'm starting to have the feeling I have to replace the computer inside the car??

So I tried the CP9135 actron scanner again on my cousins 02 WRX with no CEL. Still reads up link error. Starting to believe the scanner isn't compatiable with J1942 protocal?? or Just subaru's in general.

The Wiggle technique does not work either..

I think its time for me to start shopping again.
