went to tazza for the first time today (http://www.tazzafresh.com/), after hearing great things about it for a few years. by far the best schwarmas i've had in calgary. Jimmy's and the desert deli don't even come close.
the chicken was seasoned well, but what really made these sandwiches stand out is taht instead of the typical iceberg lettuce, cheap pickles and banana peppers you get at most places, these are filled with an awesome blend of fresh herbs (parsley was really prevalent), some really top-quality pickled cukes, some nice hot peppers, and i'm not sure what else, but it was fucking awesome. they have regular ($7 or so) and large ($9?). I got a regular and it was the perfect size.
i really wish they had fresh-fried falafels, though (they prefry them and microwave them when you order). for some reason I can't find anywhere in calgary that makes fresh falafels (the medeterannean cafe across from chinook used to, but they closed recently). imagine going to a restaurant to order french fries, but they were pre-fried and then nuked to order! same thing, basically.
