    Default HDMI dillema

    I have 2 Sharp Aquos LCDs : one 32' one 37', both support 1080P

    32' Sharp Aquos LC-32D64U
I connect XBOX thru a HDMI cable to the 32' and I can set it to 1080P

    37' Sharp Aquos LC-37D64U
I connect XBOX thru a HDMI cable to the 37' and I can only set it to 1080i

How can I get 1080P on the 37'?

Yep, those are the 1080P models alright, lol.

Did you try the different ports? I think there are 3 HDMI ports on the 64 series...

I have the LC46D64U and it doesn't do that. My PS3 supports full 1080p through all HDMIs. Call Sharp or call whatever store you bought it from and see what they can do for you.

The only thing I can think of, is play around with the menu/setup options on the 37" Sharp. It may be that the TV itself is set to 1080i as opposed to 1080p, and thus the TV is telling the Xbox that 1080i is the best it can do. Basically right now your Xbox doesn't think your 37 inch has 1080p -- I'm assuming that's because the Sharp is set to some sort of < 1080p mode.

That would be my best guess too, although its a long shot.

Where did you buy the TV from? Worst case, you can try to get the store or Sharp to replace it.

I have the same 37" TV and it displays 1080P with my PS3.

The problem has to be some difference in the TV setup between the two. Cross-reference every setting between your 32 and 37 to try and find the difference.
