Hey hows it going everyone..

I moved here 3 years ago from winnipeg,mb, cars ive owned is a turbo fc, fd and silvia s13.... working as a automotive tech at audi here in calgary, nice to meet you all, 1 thing i miss about winnipeg is sunday night cruise, domesitics, germans, japenese vechiles and w/e else cruised on the main streets of winnipeg, bumper to bumper and ppl would pull out there lawn chairs or w/e watchin cars go by for most of the sunday evening.. would be cool if we had something like that in calgary... Nice to meet you all!!! sorry i took so long.....

Ya, been to the 'peg a few times. The cruises are amazing, never see anything like it anywhere.

I'm sure a thing you don't miss about Winnipeg is = WINNIPEG.

Been there couple times too, had a bad experience last time I was there... Couple years ago bought a new GPS, but Mr. Magellan failed me that day in Winnipeg. Driving back from Ontario, I think leaving from Dryden in morning, by afternoon before I got into Winnipeg I had to take a really really big poop but can't hold it till I got there. So I had to cancel current route (Calgary house), and use "points of interest" for closest gas station (about 100km before wpg)... Got back in the car, punched in Calgary, but hit "shortest distance" instead of most use of highway... so I went through highway #1 through old downtown Winnipeg @ 5:00pm (instead of ring road)

Welcome, I've heard about those meets in winnipeg, sound unreal, seen some kick ass videos of them as well, don't have anything like that here though, only night meet that happens here is something called Bullshit, and it lives up to its name as its all just a pile of bullshit.

Should have worn Depends and all of that could have been averted.

You've been on beyond since 2004 and those are the only meets you know of?

lol...I know of other meets but most are all through Beyond, if you ask any boy racer out on the street about if there are any meets of people, most bring up Bullshit.

Sunday night man.. well theres a intersection called portage and main.. theres a mall at one end of portage and main at the other end of portage.. we used to cruise that strip, every burger joint, or business buildings parking lot at night, since they were closed were packed with diffrent car crews, domestics, japs, old domestic classics not so much german but there were dont know about now.. lotta tickets get handed out that night though.. and during day time on sunday cars cruised through the park to show off the new ride, or w/e. i dont think cops allow the park thing nemore though.. ppl were on there lawnchairs brought from home on some parts of portage watchin the cars go back and forth... it was a proper car night for everyone and anything...
portage was equivalent to 17th ave here... but alot stronger car culture then calgary... lotta nice high end vechiles here though!! wpg is heavy into modding domestics and japs mostly..

That's the problem with a larger city, it's not that there's less car culture, it's just harder to bring it all together. You won't find many events that combine classics, muscle, rice, euro, and asian together, they're all in cliques spread out across the city.

If you like classic and muscle though, A&W on Macleod every wednesday (not a cruise, however, that's just asking for tickets)
