Thats insane!!!!
that is some of the craziest shit i've ever seen. lucky people that they got down before that thing crashed.
some of those hail pieces had to have been the size of a fully grown person
wow.. i guess the speeds of the plane didn't help at all.. thats why its so devastating..
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”
—Cicero, Roman statesman and lawyer

The hail was no bigger then a golfball, there was also no risk of crashing, the biggest risk comes from the broken windscreen which could have possibly depressurized the plane, but the plane never reached a high enough altitude for that be of concern. It sounds like it was pilot error as they decided to head through clouds that were known to contain hail when all the other departing aircraft were staying clear. Estimated repair cost is just a little under 1 million. A few weeks earlier an A321 (Airbus's Boeing 737 equiv.) ran into something similar and continued onto it's destination with no problems.
You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
Holy SHEIT!
damn... lucky bastages.. stupid pilot tho.. why would he go into it when he knew there was hail damn.
