    Default Car Shop TV Commercials....

Anyone else see the Contemp. Motorsports commercial on a-channel tonight?

do you guys think that the market for parts/services for imports has gotten large enough in calgary to warrant running tv commercials or is it just a waste of money?

    post your thoughts/opinions...

I think commercials for the shops will get more awareness about the scene out there...as corny as they might be, and even if the calgary scene isn't that big, it might help make it bigger

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

I have not seen the commercial, so I can't comment on that but TV advertising is very expensive. For a market like Calgary your return on that type of investment isn't worth it. However if Contemporary was entering the Calgary market for the first time, or attempting to differentiate into a new demographic market, then yes it could be money better spent.

As for Speedtech they have targeted their advertising methods well with a radio station that many of us listen to. Not to metion radio advertising is quite a bit cheaper. Further they have tied their advertising with an event to further enhance the probability of increased awareness.

    Just my 2 cents

contemporary can probably afford it, they dont do all their business in calgary. a lot of it comes from all around especially their website. if they have the money all the power to them! also, the radio only goes so far, but a-channel is seen all over southern alberta, so it makes sense to be more expensive, and they can even get to smaller towns, and you would be surprised to see soem fo the work that goes into cars down there!

tv and radio adds for a tuner shop not worth it... every shop i've ever been to has been by recomendations.

its simple... they do great work... word gets out... they get buisness
