Default Camp Cooking - Dutch Oven

Does anyone know where I can buy a dutch oven? No, I don't mean I want to be suffocated under the covers by some nasty fumes...I'm talking about a heavy iron pot for cooking over a campfire. I've seen them online but the good pots are damn heavy so I'd rather buy it locally than have to pay for shipping.

http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...45524441894725 Membership at MEC is $5 and you can do it at the till.

Edit: Location in Calgary is on 10th Ave and just off 8 St SW. There's also a Coast Mountain Sports across the street.

Canadian Tire has them, so do those Benix stores at the mall. I think they are quite a bit cheaper at Benix. I think Stokes has them for good prices too.

Yeah, I was going to suggest going to Williams-Sonoma in Chinook, The Compleat Cook in Bankers Hall downtown, or any Bay or Sears department store, and suggest that he goes for an enamel coated cast iron dutch oven for ease of cleaning.

But then I realized he wanted a dutch oven for camping. So I figured the one from MEC would be perfect for what he wants to use it for. If he's going "camping" in a trailer with no plans to hike to a site, by all means, use the cast iron version.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. My use for the pot will be to cook on a campfire (ie, bury the dutch oven in coals) while site camping. I'd never carry a dutch oven into the bush for backpacking!!

I was hoping for cast iron as the aluminum pots tend to get hot spots and cook food unevenly, plus it's possible to melt them. I'd like a solid 12" diameter, 3-5" deep cast iron pot which will probably weigh around 20 pounds. I don't really care if it's enamel coated or if I have to season it when I get it. It also needs to have a lipped lid so I can put coals on top.

If I could find something like this locally, it would be ideal:
