it says in this report that he was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries, but it should be now considered a homicide cuz i guess he died.

CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

At 2:00AM, the Calgary Police Service responded to a
disturbance in a nightclub in the 1000 block of Olympic Way
SE. Upon arrival, along with paramedics from the Emergency
Medical Services, police officers located an unconscious male
inside the nightclub. This man, in his mid-twenties, was
transported to hospital in critical condition with a life
threatening head injury.
The person responsible for this assault had left the
nightclub, but was followed to a nearby casino where
witnesses were able to identify him to responding police
officers who took the man into custody. The offender is
alleged to have used the lid of toilet water tank in
committing the assault.
The investigation continues by detectives from District 1
General Investigation Unit, and the Calgary Police Service
asks for anyone who witnessed the disturbance and/or assault
to contact them at 403 266 1234 or through CrimeStoppers.
