Default Reasonably Priced Hotels in Edmonton?

I'm coming to Edmonton for the V8less nights thing and the performance-shop.com meet with my wife and brother-in-law.

Anyone know of any reasonably priced hotels?

Well you may or may not have heard of this on 'to serve and protect', but the jasper place hotel is MAD cheap. And located in close proximity to downtown and west ed. You cant loose, unless you get stabbed that is.

I stay at the Crowne Plaza everytime I go to Edmonton -- excellent rooms, excellent morning breakfast -- everything a single traveller could ask for.

When I was in Edmonton, I stayed at the Executive Royal Inn that is 5 min from West Edmonton Mall for around $120 (Executive Wing), you get a fancy bathrobe and stuff plus the breakfast, a pretty nice and new place considering it's only 3.5 star.

Not sure if that is considered reasonable, but everything in the area was sold out and I was a desperate walk-in and took the last room they had.

    Stay away from Travelodge too!
For that matter, stay out of hotels that are 'pet-friendly' unless of course you have a pet.
Peoples dogs leave fleas that bite you up pretty bad and often, the cleaning doesn't get rid of them all

Remember - you can get a discount at most downtown hotels if your travelling for "business" and give them a card.

It dropped from like 160 to 120 at the Thorton Court (Really nice, right across from Canada Place) when I gave them a business card.
