The RCMP and RED DEER City Counsel have instructed us that due to the recent shootings and gang related activity surrounding the import scene in Edmonton they will not allow Drag Warz to take place as we planned, even though we have hired a proffesional security company as well as have 40 security volunteers. We have alot of time and money invested in this event and as well as a signed contract, our lawyer is looking into this and we will keep you posted!!

if this is actually postponed, we (celica/RSX club) are having a meet up in edmonton that weekend. Orig it was going to combine DRAG WARZ, but if it is indeed off, you guys can come up here and drag fri at bud park and then enjoy the BBQ or something SAT and then party at night, sunday its GOCARTS at FAST TRACK in west edmonton mall.

LOL... why rent? They're hella cheap in edmonton. Sold at every local convenience store except for 7-11. At 7-11 they sell rifles.

i am in talks with the owners to get like 1hr of track time for just us and a BIG discount....

usually its $20 for 15 mins....you get like 20-30 laps in...and believe me you are more than happy with that....

but maybe we can get a good deal....here;s hoping

Hey I found their website and did some budgeting, obviously the book-by-the-hour thing is a better deal than paying by-the-lap:

Here's the math (assuming 4X10 minute races w/8 drivers):

If you go pay by lap it's $25 for 10 minutes per person

$25/person *8 persons*4 (4*10 minute sessions in one hour)=$800 total cost

Group booking is $150 cheaper:

Flat group rate=$650 on Sundays
(4*10 minute*8 driver sessions in one hour)

They also got a gun range in the mall and huge Playdium place, maybe Edmonton isn't so bad after all.
