Default Service that drives your car home for you when you're drunk?

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for companies or organizations that drive you and your car home when you are drunk.

I've been noticing my friends have been driving while intoxicated because they didn't want to leave their vehicle somewhere so I'm gonna stop that by passing on this info and hopefully stopping a future DUI or accident.

It would be even better if it was a student organization or somethign where the money raised goes to a good cause.

    Thanks

    Jay

I posted a shout out to Clubbers Choice a while ago. Todd takes care of me very well every time I call (once a week or so).

I've heard of Plan B... never used them yet...

I think it always works out to be cheaper than a two way taxi.

    That's what she said...

I agree, it's a shame that people don't use these services (the alternate driver) more often. It seems that a lot of people aren't even aware that they either exist or that they are affordable.

Get the "premium" AMA service. You get 6 tows per year up to 300 km. Just pull one of your plug wires and give the flatbed a call Cheaper than anything else out there!

You don't even need to pull a wire, you can just tell them it won't start. I have the premium and had thought of that but I don't think I'll take advantage lol

Don't bother, they state that the delivery of your vehicle must be to a mechanic, not to your house.

When the clutch blew in my ITR I was going to get my car delivered to my buddies house (licenced mechanic with a hoist in his garage) to do the swap - AMA said it had to be delivered to a registered garage or shop - not a residence.

    Good luck tho.

My mom just had her car towed by AMA and it was taken to our home...

What if you're the type of person that can fix your own cars?

That's just what happened to me, with my "premium" AMA membership. Let them know I needed towed to a residence and that the home owner was a licenced mechanic (head mechanic of Kramer Mazda actually) and they said my car would have to be delivered to an actual repair shop or dealership.

I just ended up paying to have the car flatbedded to my buddies house in the end.

This was about 3 yr. ago - so maybe their policies have changed, but I could see having cars being delivered to residences as beeing a legal liability for them.

Well I've done it in the past a few times and never had an issues, I've been a premium member since I was 16 though so I don't know if that makes any difference but I highly doubt it.

It doesn't even need to be your car, it can be a friends as long you have your card and a license. I've done that a few times in the past too.

So I've never used one of these services (if I plan on getting drunk, I don't drive to the bar, or leave my car there overnight), how does it work though? How long is a typical wait, or do you have to arrange a time beforehand?

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

What we did was call em, tell them where the car was and just waited until they got there (they give you a rough estimate). The idea of it is great but forking out $4/km adds up fast.

Edit: They don't take debit or credit card which is shitty at the end of the night

$4/km? Who did you use? I get charged $3/km by Clubbers Choice.

IIRC it's either a licensed mechanic or your own home, not another persons house?
