Default Where would you donate your time/money to?

Well to make this short I have just begun the idea of starting up an online clothing business. And with this business I want to be able to give back by giving a part of every sale to people who are deserving.

I'm looking to do this in a somewhat original way, I don't really like the idea of just giving the money to some foundation or charity, I would like to be more involved. I donno if any of you are familiar with www.tomsshoes.com but thats what really inspired me to start this up. I like the one for one idea, but I figure most of them already have clothes. I know education is a major downfall in 3rd world countries, but I cant think of a way to contribute without just giving the money away...

I know this is probably the last place I should be looking for this type of help, lol, but maybe someone here has some ideas.

On a will, half would go to the Childrens hospital.

The other half would go to a drop a naked Rob Anders with a tattoo of his political career on his chest - out of a plane where the front line soldiers go to in Somalia fund.

OR: At the very least send Rob Anders to the places where Ignatieff has been. I give Rob a 1 in 2 chance of not making it to the end of the week compared to Iggy. IMO, they would probably jail him in Germany and France too (but at least they would keep him alive) Its astounding how one man can call down such racial and sectorial (even white people) dislike.

This will be necessary as Obama has no choice but to create a 250 mile restraining order on Rob Anders on each US/Canada visit.... So we might as well send him somewhere he can at least be used as a good bodyshield for a soldier.

I am unaware of the full details of my buddy's company's involvement with donations and proceeds, but www.monthlyboxers.com is or will be set up to give proceeds from a certain date(s) of sales for Breast Cancer etc.

EG: Breast cancer awareness week etc.

PS These boxers are pretty damn comfy!

    My favourite "charity" is kiva.org.
You get to choose who gets your money, and they have to pay it back.
No handouts, just a little help for hard working people.

    Nope.

Because I - like many others totally believe that right now the best single political thing that Canada can do is trim the protectionist politicians (racial and economic) much like firing the weak people from major corporations.

I believe that this is totally the best thing to do for Canada right now, and am willing to put my own money on it.

We need to get rid of Rabban Harkonnen. Now all someone has to do is step up to the plate with a big worm tooth *so to speak*

Its got to be blunt, sort of like Bill Gates releasing potentially malaria infected mosquitos upon conventioneers - or noone is going to realize how sinisterly we have been twisted - until its too late.

These guys provide relief to almost all major disasters around the world. You can give money OR you can give your time towards all the different events they hold. I was recently involved in an event (Dinner and Auction) for setting up water wells in Africa. The key reason why I support this group is because of the extremely low % of admin fees compared to most of the other charities charge. I personally know a doctor working with this organization who went to Pakistan (after the earthquake which took place a few years ago) who paid money out of her own pocket to fly out there and help with relief efforts.

PM me for more information if you are interested.

    You are very welcome...

And if you are super serious about donating your time to this cause I have a few things you can do on a local scale. If you wish to hear more about it...let me know and I can shoot you a pm and/or e-mail...
