Did you guys do the quiz yet? Want to compare answers?
Quiz is due tomorrow right? On blackboard I think it says it's due today, but his email says tomorrow night... I'll do it tomorrow morning.
That exam was a joke, took me 14 mins.

10%? Assignments are worth 20% so I guess it depends on if we have another one or not.Originally posted by Boat

I don't think the prof is bad at all, it's his first time teaching the course and it doesn't seem like he knows everything he's teaching, but I don't think you can really blame him.
What I do hate though, is how fucking cold the classroom is, and the guy who sits beside me is always trying to talk to me and he's loud as fuck.
The tentative schedule said that today's exam was supposed to be chapters 8-13... I guess he is disorganized...
^^ Oh man I noticed that too - it's fricken freezing in that room
It's colder near the bottom.
This was sent through that mass email thingamajig. To anyone wanting 'notes' for mar 25 class...: W2009GOPH375L01
Dear fellow "students of disaster",
As per request, here are some notes about what went on during our scheduled GOPH 375 class on March 25, 2009.
- fill in 8 digit id. that means include the leading zeros!
- no cheating, one of the TA's watching used to be some kind of crazy military dude... i think that's what i heard....
- there were 37 questions
- Dr. Ferguson cracked some jokes a few minutes into the class' silence
- most people left before the scheduled end time of 5:15pm.
So yes.... anyone who was sick, or skipped, or whatever yesterday.... missed a pretty important class....
Ya... what you're realizing is correct... yesterday was our midterm
Have a good one
Bahahaha!

I cant get this one.. Help anyone ?In the 1995 heat wave, most deaths in Chicago occurred to people living ________________.
a. on the top floors of buildings
b. on the ground floor
c. in the basement where ventilation is poor
d. There was no preferential floor for deaths.
e. out in the open, sleeping in parks or under bridges
For some reason it's "on the top floors of buildings" even though the basement with poor ventilation makes more sense. I even googled some deaths relating to the heat wave and it's all caused by poor ventilation.Originally posted by Boat

The Norway landslide one is stupid as well. Don't agree with those two answers at all.
Thanks man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's cause hot air rises in which the basement would be cooler.
That's what I thought too but when temperatures reach 41 degrees celsius and there's poor ventilation, you'd still cook.Originally posted by LongCity

Usually, you can just open windows on the top floors but not so much in basements.
I also read on Wiki that people died because they didn't want to open windows because of crime, then my answer should still be legit as poor ventilation caused deaths.
Wait, does it tell you the answer after you submitted it?! Cause if so.........
Yes it does... It automatically marks it for you...Originally posted by tango101
