non-dealer service - void warranty?

I'm just curious. if I were to take my car to a shop.. lets say Option import.. for services like oil change or even 40k major services, can the dealer say I didnt service my car at an official dealer and put the blame on me if i ever come across any mechanical problems?

From all the other threads i see. No unless if they can proved that option import caused the damage.

if they use the proper oil and an oem filter no, but you must also keep recipts for proof it was done or make sure they have a record kept for you in case they need the history

You can change your own oil if you want. Just keep records. KM's it was done at, receipts, etc.

This has come up before and it's been pretty clear.
You can have your car maintained anywhere you chose so long as it's a) done competently b) it falls within the schedule in your owners manual and c) records are kept.
That means you can go to any independent garage, wal-mart or even do it yourself.
This is true for ALL manufacturers and ALL consumer vehicles.
