Just shave it. I lost over half my hair in patches due to Alopecia Areata last year.

Shaved it off and you wouldn't believe how much less bullshit you have to deal with.

No more helmet hair after motorcycling.

AFAIK the only treatment proven to regrow hair is Minoxidil (Rogain etc.). The problem is I hear it is expensive and if you stop using it say goodbye to your new hair. Not to mention it only works on some people, not everyone.

This also works. A lot of people use it and you can barely notice the balding.

Yeah my hair has been slowly thinning over the past few years. I'm 30 now. I know it isn't as extreme as some people i've seen, but fuck...does it ever make me feel self conscious.

As long as you are healthy who really gives a shit about hair.

Only reason you are self concious is because of pussy. If you get ditched because of hair she wasn't worth it anyway.

I give a shit about my hair along with what seems to be many members on the board. Take your useless comments out of here. It has nothing to do with being self concious or a girl.

My roommate was balding in high school, now hes 27 and almost completely bald, cept he makes it work by shaving his head regularly. I think you can try and prevent it, or just embrace it. If i lost my hair, i'd probalby just embrace it, bic my head, and work out like a mofo so i'd be big enough nobody would say anything

My hairline has been receding for a while now. I have always had a thick head of hair, and it still is think, but I think I've got MPB. It sucks. I'm 22.

I look at it sometimes and just go "fuck". You never realize how important hair is in framing your face and defining your look until you no longer have it as an option. I bet that within 5 years I'll be bald.

That being said, there are options. Laser hair therapy works for some, and propercia/monoxidil work for some as well. The other option is surgical implantation of hair from the side of your head into your hairline. However, that costs somewhere around $10,000, though I hear it's permanent.

Embrace it? Fuck that, not until I ABSOLUTELY have to.

my friends all tease me about my receding hairline. but whatever, that's what friends are for.

it stung when a random drunk chick on the street that i ran into and thought i was bonding with, randomly looked at me after a few minutes of talking and said "holy crap, you're pretty bald eh!"
    i wanted to strike her

Ask your doctor about Propecia or Proscar. Medically proven to have helped 9 out of 10 people. Can have some serious side effects but very rare. Just your doctor, you can only get it with a prescription anyway. Google Propecia, there is a website with info about it.

Yeah, it sucks to start losing your hair at a young age. I first started to notice my receding hairline when I was 17... I wasn't even out of high school and it had begun.

By 24, there was almost nothing left... so I grabbed a pair of clippers, buzzed it down to the skin, got a fresh triple blade, and shaved it all off... and that was 6 years ago already.

It's a big deal for awhile, then you find other things to care about.

Surprisingly, I look a lot better without hair than I did with hair... so I'm fortunate in that respect.

Forget lotions, creams, rubs, pills... none of that crap actually does anything but make you think it's making a difference. It's like those Q-Ray bracelets... the benefits are all in your head.

Embrace being bald... you'd be amazed at how many women like a shaved head.

Don't try and hide it... by doing things like growing out your hair to cover it up... the only person you're fooling is yourself. Everyone else thinks you're lame.

    Exactly my point.

Good for you. I felt the exact same sense of relief when I shaved er to the wood, but the say of the shave was a scary one.

I started losing my hair at 19...by 25 I had a pretty big patch at the back of my head. I finally shaved it all off, after years of having a very short "crescent"...luckily, I look good with a shaved head.

Growing your hair out to hide it is horrible.. keep it short. If you are balding like I am you run with it.. I'm not about to shave my head, not yet anyway, but I keep my hair nice and short and stall its retreat with Nioxin. I can deal with being bald eventually, but you don't have to run out an get the razor if you start to get a widow's peak.
