Help me figgure out some wiring, and have some beers on me!

Ok, I am at a complete loss for some pretty simple wiring.

All I am trying to do is wire a 4 pin connection for a trailer, and something is not working out right at all.

Long story short, if you got some time, feel like traveling to the NW (bottom of COP), feel like a few beers, come on down before I throw it off of a cliff.

I am headed back outside to try and figgure it out some more, but I got my cell.

You can get adapter kits that plug into your tail lights and connect to the 4 pin.

What type of vehicle you trying to connect to ???

connecting to a dodge ram, trailer has 7 pin, truck has 4, but an adapter to 7 pin as well.

I think i have it all figgured out, and i am not sure i can explain what was wrong, but i think it had to do with the battery in the trailer and the ground there. once i disconnected the 1 ground, everything seemed to be ok.

My trailer was just stolen and the lights were not working on it.. I hope this isn't some weird coincidence...

If you look at the back of the 7 pin, isn't there a 4 pin connector for the lights ?? the extra three would be for the trailer brake.

You should be able to disconnect there and connect your trailer.

yeah, i did all that.

From what I could tell, the issue was with the ground on the trailer because of the 12v deep cycle I put in there was causing some issues with polarity or some such, was causing the lights to blink out of sequence. Lights would work fine, but if i turned on the marker lights and hit the left signal, the light would not even blink on the truck, would just stay ON. Once i disconencted the other ground I had on the trailer, things seemed to straighten out.
