Default Thai massage or a really good RMT

I went to the Doctors today and talked to my family Physician about my back problems I have been having lately.

She took a look at my back and was pretty much like, "WTF!!" as i'm knotted up like nothing else. She recommended me massage therapy and to go back to physio. She wrote two prescriptions, one for MT and the other physio.

I have a raging headache right now and my back is really sore and I can feel all the knots, I need relief in the worse way. I'm just not myself, I feel twitchy, and I can't focus!

Also, my Doctor said something about thai massage where you get stretched and massaged and it does wonders-but her office hasn't called me back yet for any recommendations.

Beyond, I would greatly appreciate any help and assistance you guys and girls can provide me. Any good RMTs in the NW area or Thai massage. Even if it's outcalls. Also they need to provide receipts so I can send to blue cross.

The only happy ending I want is relief on my back... I need immediate help, I'll definitely continue seeing the RMT even when the pain goes away it's just I'm getting a little crazy right now.

    Thanks Beyond!

My massage therapist is both an amazing RMT and he did practice some Thai massage on me a few years back... so I'm sure he's just as awesome at that now. He's actually the new owner of the Gold's in Airdrie so I'm not sure how much free time he has to do massage at the moment.

But you can call Gold's Northland (403-338-4653) and ask for the number for massage (they operate separately but in the same gym) -- you will want to book with Dino. He's unreal.

George: Excuse me, did you say "Raymond?"
    Receptionist: Yes.
George: But "Raymond" is a man.

    George: I can't get a massage from a man.

They have reasonable rates and good staff. All their RMTs are women.

Not sure about the Thai massage in Calgary, but I sure miss the ones in Phuket and Bangkok!

Anyway, I know a great mobile RMT, yes, he comes to your place. One thing about getting a massage elsewhere is driving back home once you're all relaxed. It cost a bit more, but it's worth it. Anyway Regis is amazing! He's very technical and tells you what he's doing. If you want his number PM me, I'll need to find it.

Are they doing relaxation type massages, or can they do a theraputic type massage where they pound on your muscles and you feel sore for a few days?

I've tried so many places where the RMT just rub and lightly knead my back. They don't push very hard and they don't really focus on the tight areas.

I've almost given up and started using a foam roller and a tennis ball at home to try and get the knots out.

I go to Krystal or Carina @ Edges Salon NW.

Reminds me, I need to go for one myself soon. Too much bending over working under the hood of cars... That, and I load heavy packages at work.
