    Default Letgo versus Kijiji

So Letgo is the new kid on the block, different than Kijiji but the same in some ways as well. Not sure what to think of Letgo, easier to use in some ways but a pain in the ass for categories. There's also Varagesale.com but I suspect that it and Letgo are somehow related.

    Thoughts?

varage sale has been around for several years, letgo is just a copy of varage sale... we've used varagesale quite a bit, but there's a lot of flakes on there because everything is supposed to be done on order of expressed interest, so people put interested even if they think there's only a slight chance so they can reserve their spot in line, then they ask their spouse or whatever, they say no, and the person just doesn't respond to you and wastes your time, but you cant move on until you give them a reasonable time to respond (a day or 2, depends on the community rules)

(i haven't used letgo so i cant speak for it specifically)

    there's also

Letsgo seems to give a faster pace. If kijiji doesn't own letsgo already (or eventually buying them out), can't see how hard it'll be for be for kijiji to just copy the formula; if it's proven.

The Facebook auction groups seem popular too, I have buddies who prefer them to Kijiji. Seems to take the haggling out of the equation. Not a good way to sell anything of real value though.n

yeah, I am using the FB auction groups for small stuff, like anything under $100. Way easier to deal with, and very few flakes.

Larger items, I still use Kijiji

thats the point of VS, it removes the anonymity so people are more likely to follow through with the transaction

I'm trying to sell a couch on Kijiji, and there are so many furniture stores on there, my ad hits page 6 in a few hours. May try Varage Sale. Letgo looks a bit lame, not sure how effective it is.
