    Default Custom blinds

Does anyone have any recommendations for companies to do custom window coverings? I want to get horizontal blinds for one window, and another, larger one I want vertical blinds. I've bought custom cut horizontal ones from Sears online before, but am not sure how to measure/size for vertical blinds on this larger front window - thus the reason for wanting custom ones from a company who does home visits/estimates. I'm also hesitant ordering these online since the two windows are in the same room, so I want to make sure the colors match properly.

Any thoughts or ideas? I did a search for blinds, and only came up with one useful thread that had a single response - Blinds for Less. Any other recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We went through the Bay and we were really happy. Fitz Flooring (don't worry about the flooring thing - they also do a lot of blinds) is good too.

Best for Less. I used them and I was very happy with the service and price.

Put in some Lutron motorized ones You can set them to open/close depending on how much light is entering the room, certain times of the day or depending on the rooms temperature.

I went through Costco for some Hunter douglas blinds. Their pricing was significantly better than places like Sears and other Hunter Douglas retailers.

Did you just go in to either store to look into blinds? I didn't realize Costco sold any - I've never seen them in the south store.

They don't have the product in store. You have to get in touch with a retailer that is linked to Costco.

They usually advertise home products like that in little displays on the way out of Costco (across from where everyone is eating). They have a pamphlet at the displays with numbers for Costco members to call for pricing and appointments.

We used Budget Blinds after getting several quotes from different companies. I found they hade the best balance of Quality, Warranty, Service and Price. Best Warranty by far.

We have been very happy with the blinds and have had zero issues. They have been installed for over 2 years now.

Also after much research, we decided to go with real wood blinds. The faux just looked crappy, wasy way too heavy and is prone to warping more easily.

Budget Blinds FTW, in our case.

The reason we're going custom instead of ordering online as we have before is because we're going with two different types of blinds. One will be horizontal, the other vertical (2-way draw). Ordering online we can't be sure of getting colors that match properly since they're both in the same space. So we're just getting 2 windows done at the moment.
