    Default Realtor selection process?

    Hello,

So I am about to start looking for a house, finally, long time overdue.

Anyways, got my HELOC setup yesturday and my friend recommended Jason Hunt from Re/Max. I got in touch with him (well not him, his secratery) and she pointed me to some properties on the list. I never talked to Jason yet but he seems like a big shot or something, and I don't really feel comfortable using him. I know there are a few realtors on here who would be willing to help, and I am kind of leaning towards that way. How do I go about selecting a realtor. What are the steps? I do meet them and chat and then tell them politely that we will go with someone else...kind of like an interview? I want to go with someone who will be on the ball ready to help me out, not someone who is a big shot who is too busy and has his own secratery, want a more personal touch so to say.

I did ask them about proving me with some properties I can look online, but really that is all so far, so I can easily backout from this realtor right? Is there a proper way of doing this?

I think MYWIFSHOT hung himeself in BC a few months ago after killing his wife, who was so hot --- SHE WAS ON FIRE!

But seriously, Call Jordan. He's good.

The way I did it was to email a few and to ask them the questions I had. This means you'll get a variety of viewpoints on your questions, and you'll see what kind of communicator they are.
I went with Jordan, and I was 100% pleased with the experience. I feel he got me a good deal on both ends, and he was a pleasure to work with.
Here's a link the the review thread I made. there are several others if you dig through this section.

Jordan or known as MYWIFSHOT on here is definitely a great guy, along with barmanjay. I'm positive they could offer you some great assistance with the search for your home.

Be sure to do some research as it can cost you in the long run.
Many find it important to be able to balance the business relationship with a sense of humour. This allows for a fun/good time while searching instead. It can be frustrating seeing place after place if there is no fun involved.

to be honest its going to be difficult to choose a realtor just by a short "interview" since they will all likely give you the same answers and mostly tell you the same things. it might be a better idea to go off word of mouth, and other people's experiences with the realtors

^^^. Thanks guys. I always say to my clients, and future clients. Choose a realtor that suits your personality and has the know how to find what your looking for as you might be spending quite a bit of time with him/her

To whomever you chose, best of luck with the house hunting

I based my decision on the reviews on miwyfshot, I just pm'ed and emailed Jordan, and started looking right away. I didn't ask any questions lol. Just let him know what I was looking for. Went well for me.

^ I went with Jordan and it was as good as I could have hoped, helpful, professional, and seemed all around a good guy. I went with him, and so did my sister. Would reccomend him to anyone.

If you have any questions PM me and I'd be happy to help.

Since no one else has, I'll give a shout out to HRD2PLZ. He earned his keep by showing us around 80 properties and he sold our place in a month. If I didn't talk to him first, I would have gone with barman.

Thanks guys, I went with barmanjay since he was the first to reply.

I kid I kid, I met up with him and we started looking right away, liked his personality and his easy going nature. Great and fun guy to be around with, so definately having fun looking for a house.

Plus he drives a GTP, that alone is enough for me haha
