– If five-year-old George Mills had his way, his Mommy would have a new car waiting in the driveway this Christmas.
“I’d get her a red one, she’d like that,” he said. “Daddy likes golf, so I’d get him some golf balls.”
The News asked Mills and the other Primary students at Frank H. MacDonald School in Sutherlands River to share what they’d get their parents for Christmas if money was no object. Here are their responses:
Brent Chapman, 5: “I would like to get my mom a purple sweater because she likes purple. I think she really wants a sweater. I would get my dad a new calendar with a Mazda on it, he likes Mazdas.”
Lance Horton, 4: “I’d get my mom a new jewel on a necklace. She wears them a lot. I’d get my dad a new golf club because he likes it a lot.”
Laci MacGillivray, 5: “I’d get my mom new clothes, really pretty ones. Probably green clothes because it’s her favourite colour. I’d give dad a golf course, he likes golf.”
Megan MacIntosh, 5: “I’m going to get Mommy a new TV – a big one, but not too big. She’d like that. I’d get Dad a new set of dishes.”
Clark Smith, 5: “Mommy likes Backugans, just like me, that’s what she wants. Daddy would like one too. I’d play with them and we could have a fight.”
Lyndsey Kelly, 4: “Mommy would like a new laptop because she needs a new one because the other one won’t work anymore. My daddy, he would like an eraser in case he messes up if he doesn’t know what he needs to get for the groceries.”
Chase Fulton, 5: “A family book, my mom wants one. It’s got words in it. Dad would like a new hat.”
Olivia Welsh, 5: “A book with pictures in it of our family,
Mommy would like that. Daddy would like a new red shirt.”
Rebecca DeCoste, 5: “Mom would like flowers – blue ones. She doesn’t like flowers that much but I think it would be nice. Daddy would like a car, something black.”
Mattea Miller, 5: “My mom’s name is Goldie and she may want some fancy shoes, maybe purple and sparkly. I think my dad would like a belt, a nice green one because he likes green.”
Sophia Snell, 5: “I Think my daddy would like new tools and my nanny would like some new high heel shoes and my Gramp would like some slippers.”
Josh MacDonald, 5: “I’d get my mom a new cheese grater. All I know is she wants one. My dad, I’d get a new blue Penguins hat, that’s the team he likes.”
Jeremy Spaulding, 5: “I’m trying to think what she wants. I got her a pair of slippers. Dad likes cars, so he probably wants a remote control car.”
Jeannie Polley, 5: “I’d give her flowers, purple ones. I give her flowers almost every day, but she still loves me when I don’t give her flowers. I’m going to give my dad a pretty car, just like his toy car, only better.”
Riley Murray, 5: “My mom doesn’t want anything, but I’d give her a shirt, a black one. My dad, I’d give a nice truck with pink and black on it.”
Nick MacDonald: “I would get my daddy a suit to wear to work, blue with blue stripes. I’d get my mommy a brown dress with a necklace.”
Hannah MacLeod, 5: “I’m going to give her a homemade picture and some jewelry, and for Daddy I’m going to make some homemade cookies because he loves cookies.”
Mitchell Rector, 5: “I’d get my Dad Eagle pants to match his Eagle shirt, he’d maybe like purple ones. He likes the Eagles. And I’d get him a monster truck. My Mommy, I’d get a T-shirt – a rainbow-coloured one – and some new bedtime clothes. Her favourite colour is green.”
Rosie Martin, 5: “I’d give my dad a Christmas apple and candy because he always eats mine. I’d have a fish tank for my mommy; we had one before and then it died. I’d give her a new flower pot and a lipstick, too.
Cailen Rhude, 6: “I’d give a lipstick to my mom, a red one, it’s sparkly. I’d give my dad a shaver.”
Phebe Dean, 5: “My mom, I’d give a candy cane, an apple and a dress that says ‘porcupine’. I saw it at Walmart. For my dad, a new shaver and a book about Rambo; he likes Rambo a lot.”
Carter MacLean, 5: “I’d give mom a frying pan and my dad a hammer and a tool belt because he wants another one.”
Nicole MacGregor, 6: “I’d give a little water thing that grows and grows, it’s a bear, to my mom. It shrinks too. I’d give my daddy a zebra toy for the rec room. I’d give my Grampy Gordon a real green gecko because the red ones bite.”
Landen MacDonald, 5: I’d give Mom a red T-shirt because it’s her favourite colour. I’d give Dad a Spiderman blanket. He needs lots of blankets to sleep.”

Payton Francis, 5: “I’d give my dad an iPod that makes videos, he’d like that. I’d give my mom a rosary, I think it’s a kind of dress.”

Quintin MacDonald, 5: “A new kitchen because she wants one. I’d give my dad a Bible, he’d like one.”
Sarah Cameron, 5: “I’d give my mom a ring and a bracelet, they’d be gold and blue. I’d give my dad a truck and a yo-yo because Daddy likes yo-yos.”
Megan Swain, 5: “I’d give mom a ring and my dad a yo-yo and a candy cane, because he likes them a lot.”
Skye Enfield MacLean, 5: “I’d give my mom and dad a towel – one for Mommy and one for Daddy – with a cat on it. I’d give her earrings and two necklaces, one for me and one for Mommy to wear. I’d give Daddy yellow beans and he’d put them on a snowman at home.”
Abby Baker, 5: “I’d give my mom a CD, a dance one, and a bracelet and a real crown. I’d give Dad a real flower, a red one, he’d like that. I’d give him a radio and a CD, too.”
Rebecca Koskulics,5: “I’d give my mom some jewelry from the dollar store, maybe some earrings, a ring and a necklace. I’d give my dad a CD for at home and for in his truck and some jellybeans.”
