Race City Speedway, in Calgary. You're from edmonton? There's a lot of edmonton guys that come down to Calgary during our track days.

dont ppl usually run better times in edmonton or is that a myth?
People DO run better times in Edmonton because it's 1000ft lower than Calgary. Better air, better power!

thx for the info rage2...
so what would i have to do to come out and
try my car at the track. it looks really fun
but with all the links you have given me it seems
that all the cars are really high class and fast
i just have a little inline 2.4 n/a
hopefully that n/a will change one day
I updated some of my links to broken pictures (if you see any give me a pm)
Everyone's welcome. There's a good mix of fast and slower cars. Passing only allowed on the straights, so everyone gets along well .Originally posted by two40sx

Don't need a fast car to have fun at the track I had a riot in my 165hp Impreza RS, and it definetly wasn't the fastest thing out there by any stretch of the imagination. As long as you come out to have fun and learn something, its all goodOriginally posted by two40sx

Drag racing is for fast cars. Solo 2 is for fast drivers.
Can any car race at the beyond track days??? I have a 94 mustang and would really like to race it a few times, i have never been before (other than secret street). Thanks.
There's been many mustang's on the roadcourse, including 4wheeldrift's mustang (his other car).

You don't need an exotic car. I've lapped my Focus at Racecity and had a blast.
For Edmontonians , here's another track near you. It's in Ft Saskachewan and it's a really nice track. I drove it during an SVT event last summer. http://www.stratotech.ca
Regarding the better 1/4 mile times in Edmonton. I think they prepare their track better too. Racecity's track is quite slippery..

Aww..... I miss sunmmer......
Mustangs make very interesting machines for road course use We're in the process of converting an '89 LX Notchback into a full out road race car, but I had the chance to use it basically stock at a couple lapping days last year . The car is an absolute hoot to drive at the track, and the handling is surprisingly good all things considered.Originally posted by Dave

Keep in mind that all the newcomers must take a beginner saftey and road course instruction by an instructor to be able to participate. This minimizes the chance of any accidents, and ensures everyone knows the rules, the environment and issues that can arise from negligence.
As for cost time place etc, this has yet to be determined for this coming season. It will be in the works.
"take a beginner saftey and road course instruction"
How long is this course? Is it on the same day as the event?

In the past we held the the day of the event... and we have also had people go to actual driving schools. There are some people who come out with the wrong attitude and that is what we don't want as it causes issues for everyone.Originally posted by Toms-Celica

AS I said for this season it is still to be determined. I will provide plenty of time for you all to get things together. A new seperate post will be created once the dates are booked
