Drug testing for a new job downtown?

Couple quick Qs

a) Do big companies like Encana, CNRL, Shell drug test new employees that are working in their offices here in Calgary?
b) Piss test or spit test?

Also, why is a piss test so fucking unfair to pot smokers. I might just switch to crack.

I've never heard of an in office drug test myself? I do believe drug testing is more field oriented because of safety issues.. you should be just fine my man.

Lots are doing drug testing now i believe its a piss test.

I think either way I will have to quit like right now, on the off chance I get a job here and then am immediately transferred to a work site.. unless companies have come to their senses and have started doing spit tests instead of piss tests, which will only pick up weed for the previous ~2 weeks instead of 30-90 days

when i worked in an office a few years ago and was a regular toker, i got asked on a wednesday morning for a random opportunity to go to site on the coming monday (i smoked last on the tuesday)
i drank a ton of water the day i found out and then bought a bottle of whateverthehellit'scalled from bongs n such on macleod for like $50 that gaurantees you to pass the piss test. i did exactly as the instructions said and passed the test on the monday.

yes you should, i suspect your going to be doin something with O n G. Which basically is goin to have drug testing 100 percent.

I know pipe line controllers get random drug tests and even breathalyzers when they come into work, they have to be at 0.

if you do some research... urine tests actually only pick up thc consumed within the last week to 10 days. The reason for the 30 day myth is flawed clinical testing. these tests were originally conducted on people who had been to drug court and were required by law to abstain from smoking marijuana. of course they would go in for their test and claim they hadn't smoked for 4 weeks and would test positive. in actuality they had probably smoked only days earlier. quit for 10 days and drink lots of cranberry juice and you will be fine.

The job I have right now is fine but there is no reason for me to continue on because there are no opportunities here. So I gotta go somewhere else.. and I don't want to get through an interview and all that, in this economy, and then not get the job just because I couldn't stop smoking up for a couple months

exactly, i know a few places do drug testing as the hiring process and than after its random.

but some places just do the initial hire drug test

everything I've read still says 1-3 months depending on your body type and frequency of use.. so I'm giving myself two months. I don't trust any of that detox shit, either

They do drug tests for downtown O&G jobs? I thought one of the pre-requisites for these jobs is that you have to do coke haha.

Those are only for the corner office positions. - and you have to PASS a coke test, ie have coke in your system.

Detox's work, a friend of mine had to do a random drug test for an airline at YYC and they gave him 3 days notice so he did a detox and passed.

It cost him around $100 though.

Just about eh? Almost everyone I know in the O&G field does coke. The stupid thing is that while it is by far more destructive than weed, it gets out of your system in a couple of days and doesn't register on the tests.

It's a fucked up system. But aren't they all....?

No man you are not going to have to do a drug test for an office job in Calgary within OnG. If you are working out in the field then thats a different story but not for an office job 100% guaranteed, you must be really high righ now and trippin
