Default External USB 1TB HDD or SATA?? Plz Advise

    Hey guys,

I have a notebook that I want to upgrade the HDD in, and I do know that Western Digital makes a 1TB notebook 12.5mm HDD but will it fit in my notebook that's another question...

I'm just wondering what is better? A SATA 1TB HDD or a external 1TB HDD?
Like which is faster in terms of transfer speed? and next question... anyone know where I can buy a 1TB notebook HDD that will fit a macbook unibody 13.3"?

    Thanks!

internal SATA would be faster, but if your just storing data (pics and music) a external is more then enough..

eSATA has a pretty good transfer rate if you're going to go external.

I play movies and music off of my external drive and it's only USB 2.0, zero problems. Doing a mass data swap takes a long time though, 500GB was like 12 hours or something lol

Find an internal, I don't know if 12.5mm drives will fit properly though, google that shit. But definitely do internal, MacBooks are really simple to swap out the hdd, and you will notice your entire computer operates much quicker (well depending on what you're replacing). I find a new HDD is usually alot more noticable than ram or even processor speed for daily shit like boottimes, and loading apps.

Macbooks have eSata? I think I've only seen one or 2 PC notebooks with eSata though I do think it should be more common.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!

You know, I never checked for macbooks actually! Quite a few PC laptops have an eSata + USB combo slot now, kinda assumed macs would have that as well.

Nope, It won't fit. The biggest one currently on the market that will fit is a 640GB Hard drive. How do I know this? I'm an Apple Certified Technician. PM me if you have any questions
