meh, i think google dropped the ball on this one, they waited too long, they lost the hype that was created by the american launch, anybody that really wanted it, got one by other means, anybody else (tire kickers) have moved on to oogling other devices, like the HTC HD2

Um, the HTC HD2 isn't android, and it isn't even compatible with 3G here. Not sure how you can even compare the two phones.Originally posted by Thaco

I've been running an android phone through Rogers for a month and a half now, the LG Eve, works great
What's different about this one?

actually it is, if you are on wind mobile. so yes, i can compare them. but regardless, i was just throwing a phone model out there, there's plenty coming down the pipes to take away from the nexus.Originally posted by GoChris

"The" phone huh? yet they both do the same thing...so really the only difference is the manufacture of the phone itself.Originally posted by dino_martini

no, just the name, htc makes it, but it says google on it, that means it's worth infinitely more.Originally posted by Deetz

So glad I waited and didnt get the Milestone.
The Nexus one was not selling well.. Big reason it was only available on T-Mobile, a small carrier by US standards. Now that its available for AT&T it will likely sell much better. Plus a few will go north of the border now.
Too bad the HD2 is stuck on crappy Win MO 6.5, it will not be updated to Windows 7 mobile.Originally posted by Thaco

current ones wont, but future releases will have 7, so i am sure there would be a way to upgrade it in the future, maybe not legit, but a way.Originally posted by ZEDGE

So very tempting to buy... and the page used to say "Sorry, the Nexus One is not currently available in your country."
http://www.google.com/phone
Just checked, total comes to $556.xx US which includes shipping through DHL... I wonder if they can get around customs...

Just wondering why it's worth so much more. The applications are the same, i can't tell the difference.Originally posted by Thaco

I'll ask again, aside from HTC making it, what does it do differently?
Just curious
Honda/Acura guy
Reading a thread on Howard Forums it appears they may tack on GST/PST. Possibly a brokerage fee.

It has a 3.7 inch amoled screen, a 1ghz snapdragon processor. Among a list of other things. Sorry but comparing an LG Eve is like compararing a Golf to a Porche.Originally posted by Deetz

Paid apps apparently showing up on Google Market for Rogers and Fido locked/unlocked devices. Nice to see them finally show up without having to root.

Officially there is NO upgrade to WP7S for the HD2. It does not meet the (strict) specs set out for it. Current or future.Originally posted by Thaco
