Mounting tomorrow. Mods for both vehicles are almost 100% done.

Got the brush guard and lights mounted up.
Offroading on Saturday was pretty crazy, new tires dig very well.
Sometimes they dig too well.

Man, the trails look horrible! Glad I sat this one out. I should probably install the winch and get my sliders on before I go play.

Engine is coming out first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully rolling by next weekend.

What happened to the motor, anyway? Drank some water?
A lot of water. Enough to instantly bend a rod. Not doing anything stupid, just a random splash or something.Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

New engine has been stripped down and redone with new water pump, t-stat, hoses, RMS, oil pump, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, throttle body, motor mounts, tune up, dist will be sealed, throttle body/ intake connection will be sealed.
I'll be picking up a snorkel from E-Mortal and having it Line-X'd.

We should probably get together at some point on the trails.
It's been a while. Last Beyond trail run in September was great.

Yikes, that's some shit luck. Sounds like you've got the new engine under control though. Are you putting in that 5.9, or sticking with the 5.2?Originally posted by FraserB

...but not until I get my transfer case shifting and the new tires put on...
Just a 5.2Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

Whole thing with the snorkel should be about $1200. Annoyed more than anything.

$1200 ain't bad, I think I paid a hair under $2K for machining and parts to build my 5.9.Originally posted by FraserB

Of course, now I'm worried my high-mile trans is gonna take dump and fixing that ain't gonna be cheap.

Thinking of taking my quad out for a ride on maybe saturday. Anyone interested in joining?
Life is too short to drive boring cars.
Engine is running, started on the first crank. Seems to run better than the last one lol, just gotta do the re-wiring for the winch and lights.
